So long Stippled Blossoms

Welcome to our April Blog Hop, you should have arrived here from the lovely Angela Lorenz.  This month it's all about celebrating (and maybe mourning a little) the great products that will be retiring soon.

SU Apothecary Accents, Dictionary, Bitty Banners, Flower Frenzy
Card closed
Stippled Blossoms was one of the first Stampin' Up! sets I purchased and I love and use it just as much today as I did then. This really is one of my all-time favourites and I'm so sad to see it go.  I've combined it here with the retiring In-Colours: Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana - weren't they great colours!
SU Apothecary Accents, Dictionary, Bitty Banners, Flower Frenzy
Double Gate Fold

This card also includes the retiring punches: Small Oval and Artisan Label as well as retiring framelets: Apothecary Accents (another firm favourite of mine) and Bitty Banners.

Just to continue the retiring theme, I've also used the retiring background Dictionary stamp.

Other retiring products featured in this card are the Label Love stamp set, Flower Frenzy Bigz die and the  Petite Pairs stamp set.

Remember, the retiring products are selling at up to 50% discount but are only available until 2nd June (while stocks last), so if there's something you like on the list of retiring products - don't hesitate - jump in and get yourself a bargain now.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit here.  When you've finished, remember to click the "Next" button to move on to visit the next Crazy Crafter, the very talented Sue Wdowik who has done an excellent organisational job as our host this month.

85th Birthday Pop Out Window Card

Thank you for joining us on our Crazty Crafters Blog Hop - I do hope you are enjoying the journey.

It's my Mother-in-Law's 85th birthday next week so I thought I would share the card I have made for her.  We're hosting her party here at our house and I decided to use the colours black and silver to go with the party decorations.  They're her favourite colours.

I really enjoyed making this card and I'm sure I'll be making more suspension cards in the future - it's so much fun!  Many thanks to Deb Valder at Stampladee for her excellent instructions.

I should have made the suspension small enough to fit inside the card when the card is closed - but never mind .....envelope punch board to the rescue!!

The flower has an Antique Brad centre and is made from some black and silver netting that I've had in a drawer for quite a few years now!

More fun with the Striped Scallop Thinlet

Continuing my quest to use the Striped Scallop Thinlet!  This one sits on a base created with the I Love Lace stamp and emboss resist technique.  The butterfly is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set with matching framelet.  I offset two layers of Striped Scallops.

New Saleabration Products

Thanks for joining us on this Crazy Crafters Blog Hop.  We hope you'll pick up some useful tips and  inspiration.

What is Saleabration? For a short time only, it's an opportunity to get a special product FREE with every $90 spent!

Possibly one of the most important tips that we can share with you this month is the reminder that Saleabration is sadly coming to and end so if you like the Saleabration items - don't delay as they won't be available after 31st March.

Saleabration 2015, Stampin' Up!, gate fold card
Sheer perfection vellum, teamed with Butterfly Thinlet Die
Something I really like about the four bonus Saleabration items is that they go together really well. The Sheer Perfection Vellum Stack is a perfect match with the Nature's Perfection stamp set but also works very well with the For Being You stamp set - as well as many other stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! collection!  The In-Colour Accessory Pack is also very versatile.

I've been enjoying these new products a lot - as you'll have noticed, since my last two Posts also featured these products!  I really love that vellum!

This gate fold card has panels of Sheer Perfection vellum on the outside, coloured with Classic Inks and a Blender Pen.  The closure features the Butterfly thinlet die.  A sprinkling of Rhinestone Basic Jewels & Itty Bitty Accents punch cuts add dimension.

The inside of the card has a panel I stamped with the Nature's Perfection stamp set, using the masking technique - also coloured with Classic Inks and a blender pen.

Unfortunately, I seem to be making a lot of Sympathy cards at the moment.  The next one is an easel card using Sheer Perfection vellum and flowers I made with the Flower Shop stamp set and Pansy punch.

Then, I coloured in one piece of the vellum using the Stampin' Write Markers, and made two really quick cards with it.
One card has a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched out with the Word Window Punch and layered using the Modern Label Punch.  The other is embellished with dimensional flowers.

behind it.

Strawberry Slush cardstock behind the vellum

The final card I made is definitely not my favourite!  I think I had a bit of a reaction to making so many sympathy cards that it's rather too blingy!  I used a mix of Stampin' Up! Rhinestone Jewels and some "other" rhinestones I had in my craft room that were different shapes and colours. I found this really interesting because putting them together really highlighted the superior quality and shine of the Stampin' Up! rhinestones!  I stamped the butterflies from the Nature's Perfection stamp set onto Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and coloured them in with a blender pen.

On this card (I think I threw everything at it!) is the Bow Builder Punch, Finishing Touches Edgelets, Pool Party ribbon, Sheer Perfection Vellum and For Being You stamp set.

Nature's Perfection

https://www.facebook.com/groups/340399902832097/I am so happy to be able to support the We Stamp for Lara (WSFL) fundraiser - another reminder of how wonderful is the stamping community.  If you would like more information about this fundraising event (one tutorial per day for a month), or would like to help raise funds for the purchase of a mobility vehicle to help this little girl - please click on the image.

Sale-a-Bration 2015
This is the card I made for this week's WSFL colour challenge of Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  I used the brand new Sale-a-bration freebies - Sheer Perfection Vellum and Nature's Perfection stamp set.
I stamped onto a piece of vellum and then "coloured" the flower using the Raised Vellum technique shown in Deb Valder's tutorial.

The vellum and stamp set are some of the Sale-a-Bration items available free with purchases of $90 but time is running out - all the Sale-a-Bration items will go forever after 31st March.
