Flower Shop Birthday Washi Tape

I'm continuing with my quest to actually use my washi tape collection!   And I've made an important discovery - washi tape makes makes very quick but effective cards!  I can't believe it's taken me so long to stumble over this revelation!

Washi Tape and Stampin' Blends alcohol markers - a perfect union!

Having applied the washi tape to the Very Vanilla card, I stamped the greeting from Feather Together in Soft Suede ink and adhered some flowers!  I did take an extra minute to add some Gold Faceted Gems and a Metallic Sequin to the flower centres but that's it!   Done!

The flowers (from Color Me Happy and Flower Shop) were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured with the new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers that are available from today.  I fussy cut them all although the Pansy Punch does coordinate with the Flower Shop images.

Bleached Floral Statement

I tapped my stamp into Versamark and then into Basic Black Archival ink, stamped onto Elegant Eggplant cardstock and clear heat embossed.  To be honest, the Versamark probably wasn't necessary because the Archival ink stays wet (or "open") long enough to add the embossing powder.  However, I was cold and had the air-conditioning going so played it safe!

I painted the flowers and leaves with bleach and then added some Pear Pizzazz to the foliage.

I layered my floral image onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock before adding to my Elegant Eggplant card base.

My next step was to stamp a flower from the Flower Shop stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink onto Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and watercolour a little with some Sweet Sugarplum and Elegant Eggplant inks before cutting it out with the matching Pansy Punch.

I snipped down between the petals a little, curled the petals down with a bone folder and depressed the centre of the flower with a ball tool on a firm sponge before adding a Faceted Gem.

The little piece of foliage is cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock with one of the Bouquet Bunch dies and sponged with some Pear Pizzazz ink.

I also stamped and watercoloured a flower inside the card.

My new products arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to dip into the Embossing Paste!  As I normally do, I started work on several projects while the paste was open!  I'll share the others with you as and when I finish them.  I've used embossing pastes in the past and found this Stampin' Up Embossing Paste very superior!  It has a lovely, light - almost mousse - texture that is super easy to spread and control.  I was really impressed with the wonderfully crisp patterns that can be so quickly and easily achieved with the masks.  

I did leave the patterns to dry overnight but only because I ran out of crafting time!

For this card, I used the large medallion mask from the Pattern Party set and a 6" square Fresh Fig base card.  Having added a drop of Fresh Fig ink (from the re-inker) and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to some embossing paste in a small container, I smoothed it over the mask with a palette knife.  I then, carefully, removed the mask and left the piece to dry.

TIPS:

• Clean the mask and tools immediately or at least plop them into some warm water.
• I think I will use a thicker card next time I use this large mask.  I found the Fresh Fig cardstock did warp a bit.  Alternatively I might add the embossing paste to a separate layer.

The flowers are from the Flower Shop and Beautiful Bouquet stamp sets, stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Powder Pink and Fresh Fig inks (I used a Fresh Fig marker on the stamp , after tapping it onto the light pink ink pad, to add a darker centre to the flowers).  I used the coordinating Bouquet Bunch framelits and Pansy punch to cut out the flowers.

TIP:

• Save 10% by purchasing the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and coordinating Bouquet Bunch framelits as a bundle.

I then added a bit of depth to the flowers using my bone folder to gently curl down the ends of the petals and a ball tool on a Stampin' Pierce Mat in the centre of the flowers.  I had first cut between the petals of the smaller flowers so that they could overlap a little as I shaped them.   I placed some Glitter Enamel Dots in the centres of the smaller flowers and added some Wink of Stella to the centre of the larger flower.  The foliage is cut from Lemon Lime Twist card with the Bouquet Bunch framelits.

I cut one of the Eastern Medallions from Lemon Lime Twist card and adhered it to the corner.  I then nestled one of the smaller circular Eastern Medallion dies inside one of the Layering Circles dies to cut out some Powder Pink cardstock and used the same Layering Circle die to cut some Fresh Fig card.  I stamped the greeting from the Beautiful Bouquet set in the centre and layered them onto the larger medallion.

 

Thick cardstock or creating a separate layer seems recommended when using this large
mask with Embossing Paste to avoid warping.

Something I really like about the four bonus Saleabration items is that they go together really well. The Sheer Perfection Vellum Stack is a perfect match with the Nature's Perfection stamp set but also works very well with the For Being You stamp set - as well as many other stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! collection!  The In-Colour Accessory Pack is also very versatile.

I've been enjoying these new products a lot - as you'll have noticed, since my last two Posts also featured these products!  I really love that vellum!

This gate fold card has panels of Sheer Perfection vellum on the outside, coloured with Classic Inks and a Blender Pen.  The closure features the Butterfly thinlet die.  A sprinkling of Rhinestone Basic Jewels & Itty Bitty Accents punch cuts add dimension.

The inside of the card has a panel I stamped with the Nature's Perfection stamp set, using the masking technique - also coloured with Classic Inks and a blender pen.

Unfortunately, I seem to be making a lot of Sympathy cards at the moment.  The next one is an easel card using Sheer Perfection vellum and flowers I made with the Flower Shop stamp set and Pansy punch.

Then, I coloured in one piece of the vellum using the Stampin' Write Markers, and made two really quick cards with it.
One card has a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched out with the Word Window Punch and layered using the Modern Label Punch.  The other is embellished with dimensional flowers.

The final card I made is definitely not my favourite!  I think I had a bit of a reaction to making so many sympathy cards that it's rather too blingy!  I used a mix of Stampin' Up! Rhinestone Jewels and some "other" rhinestones I had in my craft room that were different shapes and colours. I found this really interesting because putting them together really highlighted the superior quality and shine of the Stampin' Up! rhinestones!  I stamped the butterflies from the Nature's Perfection stamp set onto Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and coloured them in with a blender pen.

On this card (I think I threw everything at it!) is the Bow Builder Punch, Finishing Touches Edgelets, Pool Party ribbon, Sheer Perfection Vellum and For Being You stamp set.
