Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop: Enjoy The Gilded Moment

This masculine card uses several techniques, the Enjoy The Moment stamp set 
and some Gilded Leafing Embellishment

I have chosen to use the new stamp set Enjoy The Moment from the Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalogue.

It appealed to me for it's beautiful images as well as it's useful and versatile greetings.  It can suit masculine or feminine cards and a range of occasions.

The base card is of Granny Apple Green followed by a layer of Early Espresso before the stamped piece of watercolour paper.

The birthday greeting was stamped with liquid glue before adhering Gilded Leafing Embellishment (also in the Mini Catalogue) and was then cut out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies.

This was my process:

• Mask off part of the watercolour paper
• Sponge on Granny Apple Green and Early Espresso inks
• Sponge through one of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks with Old Olive ink
• Clear heat emboss the image
• Use a damp sponge and some paper towel to remove much of the sponged ink
• When dry, use a small brush to apply a few strokes of liquid glue diluted with a few drops of water
• When dried to tacky stage, apply Gilded Leafing Embellishment
• Remove masking tape and reapply to form a narrow strip
• Sponge with Early Espresso ink
• Remove masking tape
• Stamp greeting with Early Espresso ink
• Stamp remaining images with Granny Apple Green ink - stamped off first
• Adhere the birthday greeting banner
• Assemble the card layers

It was the first time I'd used my new Blending Brushes - WOW!  They're fantastic!  They make it soooo easy to achieve a smooth application of ink.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop: Favourite Season - Four Season Stamp Set

The daffodils in the this card evoke Spring

 For me, daffodils are the flower of Spring and Spring has sprung here in Sydney! It's my favourite season!

This image is from the Four Seasons Floral stamp set that can be found in the Beginner's Catalogue and it's a set that I like very much for its versatility.  It has multipurpose and pretty images as well as great sentiments and the images can be left simple for the beginner or dressed up for the more experienced stamper.

This is a more dressed-up version with its layers and ribbons but still quite simple.

I stamped the image repeatedly with Bumblebee ink and then watercoloured in a bit more Bumblebee ink to colour the petals.  I used a Mango Melody Stampin' Write Marker for the flower centres.

Using a Just Jade Stampin' Write Marker, I went over the stems and added a little detail to the leaves before watercolouring the leaves with a touch of Just Jade ink.

I masked off the bottom of the strip and sponged with Just Jade ink and then decided to add the ribbon and bow.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop: Favourite Designer Series Paper - In Good Taste

Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  This month we are sharing projects made with our favourite Designer Series Paper and, oh my goodness, it was sooo hard to choose!  Stampin' Up! have really outdone themselves with loads of stunning papers in the new 2020 Annual Catalogue!

How to choose a favourite Designer Series Paper when this catalogue is chock full of gorgeous paper?!!!  In truth, I couldn't.  I love them all for different reasons:  some are masculine-leaning elegance (World of Good), some are soft and feminine elegance (Peony Garden), some are great all-purpose choices (Forever Greenery, Flowers For Every Season).  Then there's bright, bold and shimmery (Artistry Blooms) as well as playful and bright (Playing With Patterns, Playful Pets). 

However, today I've chosen to use the masculine-inclined In Good Taste Designer Series Paper because to me it represents great value and is so versatile.

I hate wasting the little leftover bits of paper, don't you?!  This sampler of some of the lovely paper in the pack is also a great way to use up odds and ends!

The greeting from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink and cut out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies, is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  

In Good Taste DSP makes a good backdrop for the Prized Peony Bundle

Although I consider this paper pack to be "masculine-inclined", it does also lend itself to feminine or gender neutral projects like the one above.  

For this card, I stamped with Sahara Sand ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then coloured the image with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  I cut the image out with the coordinating Peony Die (there's a 10% saving when buying the Prized Peony bundle of dies and stamps) and then coloured around the flower with a Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend.

Everyday Hero is a great stamp set for making a tweeny boy birthday card

I have to admit that I made this card in a bit of hurry for my great-nephew's birthday.  I don't seem to have many sets in my collection that are suitable for a tween aged boy so this seemed the obvious choice.  It was only afterwards I realised that this card bears a remarkable resemblance to one I've made before - oh well!  I guess I accidentally "CASEd" myself!

[EDIT] And OOPS!  I've just realised that a retired set managed to escape and sit on my shelf, encouraging me to use it!  I do apologise for that!
