Wildly Happy Elephant - A Baby Card

The Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper is so versatile - it's not just for Christmas!

A baby card featuring the elephants from the Wildly Happy stamp set and Brightly Gleaming paper
This sweet little card is to celebrate the birth of a friend's first grandchild - very exciting!  I chose to use the elephants from the Wildly Happy stamp set because the family are originally from South Africa and they have an African theme in the nursery.  It also goes with the elephant print cot sheets that we gifted.

I stamped the elephants with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured the scene with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

I shortened the Stitched Shape Rectangle using this method.

Magnolia Blooms Perennially

Magnolia Blooms image with Perennial Essence paper and Noble Peacock Foil Sheet
My flower didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it because, lacking Purple Posy ink, I stamped the image with Petal Pink which shows more than I would have liked.

The flower is coloured with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

It's very difficult to capture in a photograph the beautiful shiny colour of the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets!

Colour Me Happy with Blends

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Team Highlights this week.  Click here to see the other projects and vote for your favourites.

In this card, I used up the other piece of Basic Gray cardstock leftover from cutting labels.  I described the process I used here.

A quick & easy card using the Color Me Happy stamp set

This was such a quick and easy card!  I stamped the bird (from the Color Me Happy stamp set) with Memento ink onto the Very Vanilla card top and then coloured it with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

It's so satisfying to find a purpose for leftover bits and pieces I find on my craft table!

Then I simply added the Basic Gray frame and the branch (which was also a leftover piece already on my desk!).  I was tempted to leave it at that but decided to add the Faceted Gems to create more balance.  I (carefully) coloured them by dabbing at them with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend so that they would match the bird and the Calypso Coral layer on the card.

Hello Color Paisley: Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Project Highlights this week.  Click here to see the other great projects and vote for your favourites.

I love colouring with alcohol markers, so I'm very excited about the new Stampin' Blends - which will be available from 1 November!  One of the perks of being a Demonstrator is early access to products so I've been having great fun already!

It's fun to create the illusion of depth using Stampin' Blends alcohol markers

For this multipurpose card, I stamped the image (twice) from the Hello Colour stamp set with Memento ink and then coloured it with Stampin' Blends in Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy colours.

The greeting from Feather Together is stamped with Night of Navy ink and I used the Paisley Framelits to cut some Night of Navy and Gold Foil .  The decorative strip at the top of the card was leftover from a previous project and is made with a die from the Swirly Snowflakes set with a little strip of Gold Foil Sheet behind it.

I was originally planning to use Stampin' Write Markers rather than the alcohol markers and by changing my mind I did create a little problem for myself.  Alcohol markers do bleed through the cardstock (in this case Thick Whisper White) which looks a bit of a mess on the back.  Had I planned (or been thinking straight!) I would have made a layer so that the back would have been hidden.  I did consider chopping this card into a layer (and maybe I'll still end up doing that) but I've mostly hidden the mess with an insert.

Stampin’ Blends artist-quality alcohol markers will be available in 12 exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours. Each of the colours has a light and dark shade and there are also two skin tones and a colour lifter - giving a grand total of 27 markers. For a limited-time (while stocks last) Stampin' Up! will also be offering a Color Me Happy Project Kit and Color Me Happy Stamp Set.

Thank you for visiting.
