Magnolia Blooms in a Garden Lane

#thecraftythinker #magnoliablooms #cardmaking #stampinup #sneakpeek2020catalogue , Magnolia Blooms, Painting white on Craft, Tasteful Labels, Sneak Peek 2020 Annual Catalogue, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The retiring Magnolia Blooms image stamped onto Soft Suede card and coloured with Whisper White Craft Ink
How sad I am that the gorgeous stamp set Magnolia Blooms is retiring in a few weeks time!

This is the card I promised to share that I made at the same time as this card but using a different colouring technique.

I stamped the image onto Soft Suede cardstock with Early Espresso ink and then used a small paintbrush and some Whisper White Craft Ink to colour the petals.  I let it dry a bit and then added another coat to the outer parts of the petals.

Then I brushed some Early Espresso ink into the shadow areas.

I mixed a little yellow ink into my white to paint the centre and some green with the white to paint the leaves.  TIP:  I have a little palette with inky bits in it, including some mixed with Whisper White.  They're basically colours left over from previous projects and can be enlived with a touch of water to use any time I need just a little bit of something.  I tend to use a few drops of ink from the reinkers for watercolouring.

The base card is one of the new In-Colours, Bumblebee, to which I added a layer of the Soft Suede and some of the retiring Garden Lane paper.

I used the new Tasteful Labels Dies to cut the image and pieces of Bumblebee and another new In-Colour, Just Jade.  I then cut the Just Jade and Bumblebee layers in half and positioned then under the main label with the image.

You might also spot a piece of the new Just Jade ribbon and some In-Colour Enamel Dots.

The new products will be available for purchase from 3rd June 2020 and the retiring products will be available (while stocks last) until 2nd June 2020.

Magnolia Blooms on Stone

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #magnoliablooms #cardmaking , Magnolia Blooms, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Beginning my farewells to the retiring Magnolia Blooms stamp set that I love
The gorgeous Magnolia Blooms stamp set has been one of my favourites and I'm rather sad to see it retiring!  So I've been having a last flurry of creating with it.

The image is stamped with Saddle Brown Stazon ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then watercoloured with Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and Shaded Spruce inks.

The greeting is stamped with Earlyl Espresso ink.

The base card is Rich Razzleberry with a layer of Sahara Sand embossed with a folder that I forgot was from Sale-A-Bration - so it's retired.  I apologise!  I clearly need to spend some time organising my craft room!

The stamped image and its Rich Razzleberry layer are cut out with the Stitched Nested Labels dies and I added a piece of Reversible Ribbon and some Holiday Rhinestones.

On Monday 25 May, I'll be sharing a different approach to take with the same image.

Thank you for visiting.

Magnolia Blooms Perennially

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #magnoliablooms #alcoholmarkers , Magnolia Blooms, Perennial Essence, Noble Peacock Foil, Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, Stampin' Up
Magnolia Blooms image with Perennial Essence paper and Noble Peacock Foil Sheet
My flower didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it because, lacking Purple Posy ink, I stamped the image with Petal Pink which shows more than I would have liked.

The flower is coloured with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

It's very difficult to capture in a photograph the beautiful shiny colour of the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets!

Mercury Glass Acetate Magnolia Blooms Thank You Card

#thecraftythinker #mercuryglassacetate #stampinup #cardmaking #magnoliablooms , Mercury Glass Acetate, Magnolia Blooms, Ornate Frames, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
This card features the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate and the Magnolia Blooms stamp set
I've been using the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate on a lot of Christmas cards recently (take a look back through my posts and my addiction will be revealed!) so I decided to use it on a thank you card instead.

I backed the acetate with a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and then placed it onto the Balmy Blue base card.

I stamped the Magnolia Blooms onto Whisper White cardstock by inking the image with Stampin' Write Markers in Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron.  I then added some subtle colour with coordinating Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.
TIP: I used the Color Lifter to blend the colour out on the petals.

I hand cut the blooms and added them to the card front.

I used the coordinating label and frame from the Ornate Frames dies to create a secondary feature on the card.  The Frame is Lovely Lipstick and the label is Balmy Blue with the greeting stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink.

Thank you for visiting.
