Feels Like Frosty Grape, Christmas Card

Feels Like Frost paper - so versatile: just add ink for a paper to suite any project

The Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper is soooo versatile!  Beautiful photographic imagery on one side and white with silver foil designs on the other.  The white and silver is incredibly elegant but you can sponge on some ink to create a gorgeous paper in any colour to suit your mood or needs!

The silver foil resists the ink, so simply give it a gentle wipe with a tissue afterwards to remove any surface ink.

For this card, I used a Sponge Brayer to add Gorgeous Grape ink.  The result was stunning and I could have just left it at that.  .... But this is me!  So I cut some foliage with the Frosted Bouquet dies from Blackerry  Bliss and Champagne Foil Sheet (I could have used silver but thought the champagne would show up better)

The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, black heat embossed onto Silver Foil and cut out with the Ornate Frames dies.

Mercury Glass Acetate Magnolia Blooms Thank You Card

This card features the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate and the Magnolia Blooms stamp set

I've been using the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate on a lot of Christmas cards recently (take a look back through my posts and my addiction will be revealed!) so I decided to use it on a thank you card instead.

I backed the acetate with a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and then placed it onto the Balmy Blue base card.

I stamped the Magnolia Blooms onto Whisper White cardstock by inking the image with Stampin' Write Markers in Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron.  I then added some subtle colour with coordinating Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.
TIP: I used the Color Lifter to blend the colour out on the petals.

I hand cut the blooms and added them to the card front.

I used the coordinating label and frame from the Ornate Frames dies to create a secondary feature on the card.  The Frame is Lovely Lipstick and the label is Balmy Blue with the greeting stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink.

Brightly Gleaming Ornate Frame Christmas card

A simple and elegant Christmas card featuring the Brightly Gleaming Suite, Copper Foil and Ornate Frames die 

This elegant Christmas card is virtually nil effort to make!  The stunning Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper does all the heavy lifting!

The greeting is black heat embossed onto a scrap of Copper Foil Sheet and I cut it out with one of the Ornate Frame dies.  I've included instructions below on how I made the contrast edge for it.  

I cut a piece of Copper Foil Sheet with one of the Stitched Shapes dies and then glued it all into place.  That's it!

TIPS:

I don't like to waste foil by having it hidden underneath other papers - so I cut out the centre and just glue the edge to the card before adhering the designer paper.

I always give foil sheet a really good wiping with my Embossing Buddy to make sure that the embossing powder only sticks where I want it to.

Take extra care when stamping the Versamark onto the foil sheet in order to avoid slipping and smudging.

This card template (and the Brightly Gleaming paper) is very versatile.  I also made a Fathers' Day card using the Geared Up Bundle.

To add a contrasting edge to a punched or die cut label:

1. Cut out your label (mine is one of the Garage Gears dies cut from Copper Foil Sheet)
2. Cut two more in a contrasting colour (here I've used Pretty Peacock)
3. Cut one of the contrasting labels in half horizontally
4. Cut the other in half vertically
5. Glue the top piece into position - offsetting it a fraction above the main (copper) label
6. Glue to bottom piece into position - offsetting it a fraction below the main (copper) label
7. Check to see whether the side pieces need any adjustment before gluing.
   (In this case - I needed to remove the top and bottom to prevent messy overlap)
8. Glue the side pieces into position, offsetting as before.

Mercury Glass #Elfie - Holiday Catalogue 2019 Sneak Peek

Not long now ... the new Holiday Catalogue takes effect from 4 September!  And it's AWESOME!!

Mercury Glass Acetate makes a great snowy background for this #Elfie Christmas card

I just love versatile products that can be used in lots of ways and this catalogue is chock full of versatile wonders!

For example - the glorious Mercury Glass Acetate that I've used over Basic Black cardstock for this background.  There are two patterns in the pack and 2 12"x 12" sheets of each.  They arrive with a protective coating on one side that is easy to peel off when you're ready to use a piece - and it's easy to trim to the size you want.

The #Elfie images are great to colour and are also versatile.  I've trimmed away part of the image so that this little elf can lean against the striped ribbon that is doubling for a pole.

I coloured the image with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

Having torn the top edge, I added a Whisper White panel to represent a snowy foreground and added some shadows with a light gray alcohol marker.

I cut the greeting using a die from the Ornate Frames die set and then sponged on an edge of Silvery Shimmer ink.  I couldn't decide with frame I liked best, so I made another card!

This Ornate Frame has been shortened using this method
