Feels Like Frosty Grape, Christmas Card

#thecraftythinker #christmascard #cardmaking #stampinup #frostedbouquet #feelslikefrost , Feels Like Frost, Christmas Card, Frosted Bouquet dies, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Feels Like Frost paper - so versatile: just add ink for a paper to suite any project
The Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper is soooo versatile!  Beautiful photographic imagery on one side and white with silver foil designs on the other.  The white and silver is incredibly elegant but you can sponge on some ink to create a gorgeous paper in any colour to suit your mood or needs!

The silver foil resists the ink, so simply give it a gentle wipe with a tissue afterwards to remove any surface ink.

For this card, I used a Sponge Brayer to add Gorgeous Grape ink.  The result was stunning and I could have just left it at that.  .... But this is me!  So I cut some foliage with the Frosted Bouquet dies from Blackerry  Bliss and Champagne Foil Sheet (I could have used silver but thought the champagne would show up better)

The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, black heat embossed onto Silver Foil and cut out with the Ornate Frames dies.

Delightfully Detailed Two Ways

The new Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper is sooo gorgeous that you won't want to miss a trick with it and there are lots of ways to incorporate it into your projects!

These two cards I made by sponging a piece of the new Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper with Sahara Sand ink.  By placing a piece of Whisper White cardstock under the lattice while sponging, I created a second lattice background at the same time.

You can see more examples of this here and here using Blueberry Bushel ink.

Colouring the lattice for this card produced the background for the card shown below

In the first card, my Sahara Sand lattice is placed on top of the Early Espresso base card.  I then added the Petal Pink floral pattern that was cut with one of the Eclectic Layers dies (I trimmed around the edges with my snips).  I also added some of the little diamond shapes left over from the die cutting.

Colour palette: Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Sahara Sand, Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz

I cut the single leaves from Cajun Craze and Pear Pizzazz cardstock with the new Nature's Roots framelits and embossed them with the matching embossing dies in the set.  I then ran a matching Stampin' Write marker along the embossing and added a bit more colouration with watercolouring and sponging - I can't remember now why I didn't stamp them with the coordinating Rooted In Nature images (these can be purchased as a Bundle at a saving of 10%).

The remaning leaves are cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock (a new colour in the palette) and I added some shading with some watercolouring.

The greeting is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set, punched out with a 1 1/4" circular punch.

The finishing touches were one of the new Leaves Trinkets and some Faceted Dots.

The very versatile Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper used here as both stencil and sponged embellishment

So the lattice background in this card is a by-product of the first card and I added it to a Night of Navy base card.

Colour Palette: Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Grapefruit Grove and Calypso coral
I then added strips of the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper that I'd sponged with varying amounts of Night of Navy ink - if I'd sponged them on top of strips of cardstock, I could have used those decorative strips on yet another card!

I cut the flower with the Eclectic Layers dies from the Grapefruit Grove cardstock and Calypso Coral.  The centre is one of the new Faceted Dots.

Using the new Granny Apple Green cardstock I punched twice with the Leaf Punch and then sponged with a little Tranquil Tide ink.  The remaining delicate leaves and small flower are cut from a piece of the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper and sponged with Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove inks respectively.

Serene Garden Mother's Day Card

Hmmm - I couldn't capture this card properly with my camera - it looks much prettier in person!

I had to angle the card to catch the light on the copper
Serene Garden Bundle with Eclectic Layers

I used the new Serene Garden Bundle which will be available very soon (1 June) in the 2018 to 2019 Annual Catalogue.   One of the pieces in the Garden Scene die set creates a beautiful debossed image and I sponged over the top to highlight it.

I hand drew the stem with a Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write marker.

Gray Granite provides a pretty neutral in this berry colour palette
The greeting is from the "Must Have" stamp set called Itty Bitty Greetings.  I was very upset to see the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set retire but, I have to say, I think that this new set is even better!  It covers every occasion that I can think of!

To soften the severity of the layout, I used the trellis die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits to cut a failed experiment!  I've been playing with Copper Foil, inks and embossing powder to try to achieve an engraved, patinated copper look ... that's still a work in progress!

Memories & More Christmas Treeline

Here's another card that features one of the cards from the Memories & More Merry Little Christmas pack which is so great for putting together a quick and easy Christmas card!
#cardmaking, #stampinup, #christmascard, Memories & More Christmas Card, Hearts Come Home, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The cards from the Memories & More packs can be dressed up in so many different ways!

In its natural state, the card is white with the black trees printed on it.

I simply sponged over it with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Inks, having first masked a circle for a full moon.

Once my sponging was complete, I removed the circular mask and lightly sponged a little more Elegant Eggplant ink so that the moon was a little less stark white.

I then stamped the sleigh and greeting with Archival Black ink and sponged a little black ink around the top of the card, concentrating on the top corners.

The card layers are Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Silver Foil Sheet.

I added some Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon and a couple of Silver Foil Sheet elements cut with one of the Pretty Pines dies and finished with a Clear Faceted Gem.

Thank you for visiting.
