Eclectic Layers Foliage

The other day I made a card using black foliage cut with the retiring Eclectic Layers dies and kept the strip of card from which I'd cut the shapes (of course!).  So today, I'm using that.

Eclectic Layers - using up the negative spaces from die-cutting
Onto a Coastal Cabana card base I layered a piece of the retiring Tea Room Designer Series Paper followed by my strip of leftover black card.

The greeting is from the retiring hostess stamp, Very Vintage, cut out with one of the Stitched Shapes dies.

I added a couple of pieces of black foliage cut with the Eclectic Layers .... so now I have another strip of "negative shapes" to use!

The retiring products (Eclectic Layers, Very Vintage stamp set and Tea Room paper) will be available only until 2nd June or while stocks last.

Eclectic Layers: Lemon Lime Twist and Black

The Eclectic Layers dies and coordinating Oh So Eclectic stamp set are retiring on 2nd June, which makes me very sad because they're two of my favourite products!  So this card is a fond farewell to them.

A sad farewell to the Eclectic Layers dies
To a Thick Very Vanilla card base I added a thin frame of Sahara Sand.

I then added various elements cut with the  Eclectic Layers dies from Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black cardstock.

The retiring products (including the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock) will be available only until 2nd June or while stocks last.  Click here to visit the Last Chance section of my online store.

The label is stamped with black ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock using the Label Me Pretty and Very Vintage stamp sets and I cut this out by hand.  I then used the Pretty Label punch to create the Lemon Lime Twist layer and punched two more from Basic Black which I cut in half and adhered to create a small border at the top.

Lastly I added some sequins.

Eclectic Swirly Scribbles - Anniversary Card

My husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary in February (wow, the years are mounting!) and I've made this card for him.  Yes..... that's Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet on a masculine card!

I've always found it fascinating that we, as a society, subscribe gender to certain colours like pink.  Why is it considered feminine?  I don't really know but I do know that it's a comparatively recent thing.  So here I am saying that pink can be masculine and let's give it some gender equality! :)

Who says pink can't be masculine?

It's also true to say that I had that piece of Lovely Lipstick pre-cut on my desk and saw an opportunity to use it!  Better yet - while love is priceless, that gorgeous foil sheet is currently free (with a $90 product purchase) during Sale-A-Bration.

Beautiful Promenade Bundle - Copper & Merlot

While I had out the Petal Pink, Merry Merlot and copper, I made another card featuring the Beautiful Promenade stamp set.  Click here to see the previous card.

Have you spotted the similarity in shape between the copper pattern and the Rhinestones in the flower?

This time I reversed the order of the colours and embossed the Merry Merlot layer with the stylish new embossing folder called Tufted.

Around this time last year, I made a mask/stencil with a piece of window sheet and one of the Eclectic Layers dies and used it for this card.  The stencil is still in great shape  and I used it here with Versamark and copper embossing powder to create the decorative panel.

The shimmer of copper is so elegant combined with Petal Pink and Merry Merlot

I cut a piece of Copper Foil Sheet with the large round die in the Beautiful Layers Thinlits set and then cut it half.  I'm sure I'll use the other half on a different project.  I added some ribbons and that gorgeous flower, this time adding some Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems to the centre.  I was quite taken with the fact that the shape of the gems matches the shape of the copper embossed pattern!

For the foliage, I stamped the images with Merry Merlot ink onto Copper Foil Sheet, adding Clear Embossing powder while the ink was still wet.  After setting with my heat tool, I cut them with the coordinating die in the Beautiful Layers Thinlit set (buy the stamp set and dies as a bundle to save 10%).

The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and I cut it out with one of the Bunch of Banners framelits and trimmed the length before adhering it.

Delightfully Detailed Two Ways

The new Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper is sooo gorgeous that you won't want to miss a trick with it and there are lots of ways to incorporate it into your projects!

These two cards I made by sponging a piece of the new Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper with Sahara Sand ink.  By placing a piece of Whisper White cardstock under the lattice while sponging, I created a second lattice background at the same time.

You can see more examples of this here and here using Blueberry Bushel ink.

Colouring the lattice for this card produced the background for the card shown below

In the first card, my Sahara Sand lattice is placed on top of the Early Espresso base card.  I then added the Petal Pink floral pattern that was cut with one of the Eclectic Layers dies (I trimmed around the edges with my snips).  I also added some of the little diamond shapes left over from the die cutting.

Colour palette: Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Sahara Sand, Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz

I cut the single leaves from Cajun Craze and Pear Pizzazz cardstock with the new Nature's Roots framelits and embossed them with the matching embossing dies in the set.  I then ran a matching Stampin' Write marker along the embossing and added a bit more colouration with watercolouring and sponging - I can't remember now why I didn't stamp them with the coordinating Rooted In Nature images (these can be purchased as a Bundle at a saving of 10%).

The remaning leaves are cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock (a new colour in the palette) and I added some shading with some watercolouring.

The greeting is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set, punched out with a 1 1/4" circular punch.

The finishing touches were one of the new Leaves Trinkets and some Faceted Dots.

So the lattice background in this card is a by-product of the first card and I added it to a Night of Navy base card.

Colour Palette: Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Grapefruit Grove and Calypso coral
I then added strips of the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper that I'd sponged with varying amounts of Night of Navy ink - if I'd sponged them on top of strips of cardstock, I could have used those decorative strips on yet another card!

I cut the flower with the Eclectic Layers dies from the Grapefruit Grove cardstock and Calypso Coral.  The centre is one of the new Faceted Dots.

Using the new Granny Apple Green cardstock I punched twice with the Leaf Punch and then sponged with a little Tranquil Tide ink.  The remaining delicate leaves and small flower are cut from a piece of the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper and sponged with Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove inks respectively.
