Eclectic Swirly Scribbles - Anniversary Card

My husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary in February (wow, the years are mounting!) and I've made this card for him.  Yes..... that's Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet on a masculine card!

I've always found it fascinating that we, as a society, subscribe gender to certain colours like pink.  Why is it considered feminine?  I don't really know but I do know that it's a comparatively recent thing.  So here I am saying that pink can be masculine and let's give it some gender equality! :)

Who says pink can't be masculine?

It's also true to say that I had that piece of Lovely Lipstick pre-cut on my desk and saw an opportunity to use it!  Better yet - while love is priceless, that gorgeous foil sheet is currently free (with a $90 product purchase) during Sale-A-Bration.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Floral Phrases for On Stage Swaps

I was so excited to have attended the Sydney On Stage event at Luna Park yesterday - It's always exciting to get our first look at the amazing products coming up in the new Annual Catalogue!  This event was even more special given that it's the 30th year for Stampin' Up and there were quite a few surprises!

As usual, I told myself to keep my swap cards very simple ... and as usual I didn't listen to myself!  Thank goodness for my trusty (and awesome!) Stamparatus!

65 Swaps for On Stage Sydney!
There were 50 Crazy Crafters Team members at the event and I also wanted some to swap with others so I made 65 card fronts!  Keep scrolling down to see the amazing and generous swaps that I received in return!

The 65th of these card fronts that I made for swaps to take to On Stage in Sydney
Not only did the Stamparatus allow me to stamp the background using the Hinge-Step technique and to easily stamp the flower in the correct position on the semi-circle of Whisper White card but it also saved my sanity!

Production line - the Stamparatus makes things so much easier
When making quantities of the same card it's always best to work in batches but I very quickly become bored of repetitive tasks.  Since the Stamparatus has 4 surfaces for stamps, I could easily switch between stamping the background and the flower without having to clean or move anything.

Using the Stamparatus, I could easily switch between stamping the stripes or the flowers
Before starting the die cutting, I cut the cardstock into appropriately sized strips.  I found this helped me to save some wastage.  In fact, after cutting the swirls, I even found a use for the leftovers.

So we're coming up to the most exciting time of the year.  We'll be saying farewell to some things (in some cases very sadly) and preparing to welcome some great new things that will excite and expand our creativity - including the amazing Stamparatus!

I'll be providing some sneak peaks in the weeks to come.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Swirly Metallic Paisley

This card is included in this week's Crazy Crafters Team Highlights.  Click here to see the full line up and vote for your favourites.

I've been enjoying metallics recently and this card continues the trend!  I was really pleased with the way the Copper Foil Sheet blended with the Kraft and the metallic blue of the Foil Frenzy background sheet.

The black cardstock offsets all the metallic finishes in this card

The metallic decorations are cut in Copper and Silver Foil Sheet using the Swirly Scribbles and Paisley dies.  Using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets on the back of the metallic card makes it so easy to adhere the pieces to the card front - so I even did a little Paper Piecing!

Another metallic piece of Paisley adorns the inside of the card.  Greeting from the Guy Greetings stamp set

As you can see - I actually made this card for my husband for Fathers' Day - I apologise for delay in showing it to you!

Thank you for visiting.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Special Guest: Holly Stene

Image may contain: text
Welcome to the Crazy Crafters' Blog Hop with our Special Guest stamper, Holly Stene - we are thrilled to have Holly join us this month and so excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by her .

http://hollyshobbs.blogspot.com.au/2016/09/whisking-you-sweetest-birthday-yummy.htmlWhether you are starting the blog hop here at my blog, Stephanie Fischer - The Crafty Thinker, or have come from the person before me, be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

To research for this Blog Hop, I delved into Holly's blog posts and was enjoying the experience so much that, before I knew it, I was back to September!  At that point I decided I must call a halt to looking and start creating!

Since Holly had gone to the trouble of creating two cards for her project, I decided to follow suit and made a masculine and feminine version although, it has to be said, they look quite different.
Colorful Seasons Bundle, Vintage Leaves, Masculine card, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Colours and design elements make this card suitable for masculine recipients

The masculine card starts with a Cajun Craze base onto which I layered some Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper and a strip of Wood Textures paper.

I overlapped a couple of circles cut with the largest circular Stitched Shapes framelit from Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze cardstock and added some leaves.  The largest leaf was heat embossed in gold onto Basic Black cardstock with an image from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and cut out with the matching Leaflets framelit.  The remainder of the leaves are stamped in versamark with the detailed image in the Colourful Seasons stamp set and heat embossed with Copper, Gold and Silver onto Silver Foil, Basic Black and Copper Foil respectively before cutting with the matching die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  The final addition was the little bow using stretched out Copper Trim.

TIP:  Purchasing the stamp set and dies as the Colourful Seasons Bundle gives a saving of 10%

The "For You" greeting is from the Tabs For Everything stamp set.  I stamped it with Basic Black onto Crushed Curry cardstock then punched it out with the 3/4" circle stamp and layered it, offset, onto Cajun Craze cut with the 1" circle punch.
Colorful Seasons Bundle, Vintage Leaves, Masculine card, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The Autumnal theme continues inside the card
The greeting inside the card is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and the two-step leaf from the Colourful Seasons set is stamped in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze (which I stamped off first to reduce the intensity).

Daisy Delight Bundle, Swirly Scribbles, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A bright a cheery card using the Daisy Delight Suite of products and a Swirly Scribble

The feminine card starts with a Crushed Curry base (left over from my indecision as to which colour base card to use for the masculine card, if I'm honest!) to which I added two layers of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and a strip of Pool party cardstock to which I added some Night of Navy lines drawn with a Stampin' Write Marker.

To echo the swirly motif of the paper, I cut some Night of Navy cardstock with a Swirly Scribbles thinlit.  I also cut just the centre of the thinlit from some Pool Party cardstock.

I stamped two daisies in Old Olive onto Whisper White cardstock using the Daisy Delight stamp set and watercoloured with Daffodil Delight and (a tiny touch) of Night of Navy ink.  Once cut with the matching Daisy punch, I layered them together and added a Gold Faceted Gem to the centre.

TIP:  Purchasing the stamp set and punch as the Daisy Delight Bundle gives a saving of 10%

A stamped version of the daisy appears on the inside of the card

I used the same greeting inside the card, this time stamped in Night of Navy ink and reproduced the flower in the corner by stamping once with the Old Olive ink, rotating the stamp and stamping again (re-inking inbetween).

I hope you've enjoyed these cards and I welcome your comments.
