Hearts Come Home with Brusho Background

I was originally going to include this card in the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Lisa Curcio but then realised that it bore a marked resemblance to this card that I made last year!

With the benefit of the Brusho Crystals for the background and the Frost White Shimmer Paint, I like this one better though!

A single layered Christmas Card with a Brusho sunset background and stamped black silhouettes

This is a single layer card using Shimmery White Cardstock.  I carefully masked the edges before I started the background, to leave a nice white frame.

Once the background was dry and I had removed the masking, I stamped the houses, trees and Santa with black ink.  TIP:  I used my Stamparatus when stamping so that I could re-ink and re-stamp as many times as necessary to obtain the ink coverage and depth of colour that I wanted.

I then used the same method to stamp the moon and stars with Frost White Shimmer paint.

With a small brush, I painted the chimney smoke with some Frost White Shimmer Paint.

I then used a black Stampin' Marker to connect the row of houses with a hill.

The Merry Christmas greeting is from the Star of Light stamp set.

Christmas Card - Hearts Come Home with Bokeh Dots - Santa Scene

In my last post, I shared this Christmas card that I made using one of the Bokeh Dots background stamps as a starry night sky and promised to show you what I did with the white houses.  So this is it.

Another Christmas card with a Bokeh Dots background and Hometown Greetings dies
The processes were all very similar except that this time I added a little shading to the houses, trees and snowman with Gray Granite ink and painted the snowman's hat with black ink.

I used my much-loved Stamparatus to stamp the santa image to ensure that I got the intensity of black that I wanted by safely stamping repeatedly in the exact same spot.

I added some ribbons to the bottom of the card and a label cut with the Layering Ovals framelits.  The greeting (from Mistletoe Season) is stamped with Fresh Fig ink.

Christmas Card - Hearts Come Home with Bokeh Dots & Softly Falling

I've recently been having a lot of fun with the Bokeh Dots stamp set - one of the new Distinktive stamp sets.  There are two stamps in the set and I decided to use this image as a starry night background.

Christmas card with Bokeh Dots Distinktive stamp background and Hearts Come Framelits

I stamped the Bokeh Dot background onto a Whisper White scrap with Rich Razzleberry ink (I think!  I made a bunch at the same time - it could be Fresh Fig!)

The base card is Fresh Fig and I embossed the Gray Granite layer with the Softly Falling embossing folder after I had stamped the greeting (from Blended Season) in Fresh Fig ink.

A little bit of Wink of Stella and Whisper White Craft ink for snowy elements

I cut the smaller houses in the Hometown framelits from Basic Black cardstock and then used a damp paint brush and some White Craft Ink to add snow to the rooves, trees, snowman and a hint in the foreground.

I glued some Daffodil Delight pieces to the back of the houses to look like cheery, warm lights.  I also cut the same run of houses from Whisper White cardstock and glued a couple of little pieces to the houses.

In my next post, I'll share the card that I made with those white houses!

Memories & More Christmas Treeline

Here's another card that features one of the cards from the Memories & More Merry Little Christmas pack which is so great for putting together a quick and easy Christmas card!

The cards from the Memories & More packs can be dressed up in so many different ways!

In its natural state, the card is white with the black trees printed on it.

I simply sponged over it with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Inks, having first masked a circle for a full moon.

Once my sponging was complete, I removed the circular mask and lightly sponged a little more Elegant Eggplant ink so that the moon was a little less stark white.

I then stamped the sleigh and greeting with Archival Black ink and sponged a little black ink around the top of the card, concentrating on the top corners.

The card layers are Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Silver Foil Sheet.

I added some Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon and a couple of Silver Foil Sheet elements cut with one of the Pretty Pines dies and finished with a Clear Faceted Gem.

Thank you for visiting.
