Christmas Card - Hearts Come Home with Bokeh Dots - Santa Scene

In my last post, I shared this Christmas card that I made using one of the Bokeh Dots background stamps as a starry night sky and promised to show you what I did with the white houses.  So this is it.

Another Christmas card with a Bokeh Dots background and Hometown Greetings dies
The processes were all very similar except that this time I added a little shading to the houses, trees and snowman with Gray Granite ink and painted the snowman's hat with black ink.

I used my much-loved Stamparatus to stamp the santa image to ensure that I got the intensity of black that I wanted by safely stamping repeatedly in the exact same spot.

I added some ribbons to the bottom of the card and a label cut with the Layering Ovals framelits.  The greeting (from Mistletoe Season) is stamped with Fresh Fig ink.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Hometown Greetings Slider Pop-up Money Holders

My thanks go to Phoebe Carr at Artsy Craftsy Phoebe for her tutorial, which I found easy to follow.  I simply changed some papers and colours.  I also chose to insert some folded cash instead of gift cards - mainly because I hadn't been sufficiently organised to have purchased the gift cards in time!

My first slider pop up money holder

Now that I think of it - I didn't watch to make sure the recipients found their cash!  Oh well.....

A gift card would probably look better but cash works for the less organised such as I!

Hometown Greetings Christmas Easel Card

For this card I combined my love for easel cards with my affection for the Hometown Greetings dies!
#thecraftythinker, #christmascarad, #cardmaking, #stampinup, #easelcard, #funfold, Christmas Card, Easel card, Card Front Builder, Hometown Greetings, Christmas Staircase, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
When the easel card is closed, the card front appears to be a fairly normal snowy Christmas card scene

I also used the Card Front Builder dies for the starry sky and the trees and the Christmas Staircase dies for the pine branches and bows inside the card.

Hometown Pines Quartet

Here is a quartet of simple but festive Christmas cards using the Hometown Greetings dies.

Christmas cards made with the Hometown Greetings & Pretty Pines dies

The card below was the first I made and has slightly different dimensions to the other three.  All of the cards followed a few basic steps.

Pretty Pines and Hometown Greetings dies combine to make a simple but festive Christmas card
  • I cut  circle of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Using a Stitched Shapes circle of similar dimensions and a slightly smaller Layering Circle die, I created a narrow edge of Basic Grey.
  • With Basic Gray cardstock, I cut just one of the houses with the Hometown Greetings die.
  • I glued the house to the white circle and glued the Basic Gray edge on top.
#cardmaking, #stampinup, Hometown Greetings, Christmas card, Xmas, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Sydney NSW, Christmas Staircase
The foliage in this Christmas card is from the Christmas Staircase die set
  • I added a layer of Designer Series Paper to the card (some of the cards also have Basic Gray and Whisper White mats)
  • Glued the decorative circle to the card front
  • Added some foliage cut in either Gold Foil Sheet or Tranquil Tide and using either a die from the Christmas Staircase or Pretty Pines die sets.
  • Added a bow cut with a die from the Pretty Pines die set and an Enamel Dot or Rhinestone
#cardmaking, #stampinup, Hometown Greetings, Christmas card, Xmas, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Sydney NSW, Christmas Staircase
Traditional red and green is combined with grey and silver in this Christmas card
  • The greeting is heat embossed either with gold or silver heat embossing powder on either Smoky Slate or Basic Gray cardstock
  • I used one of the square Stitched Shapes framelits to cut the rectangular shape for the greeting.
#cardmaking, #stampinup, Hometown Greetings, Christmas card, Xmas, #thecraftythinker, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Sydney NSW, Pretty Pines
The black and white Christmas card is made more festive with addition of Real Red trimmings

The banner on this card is a little different.  I cut the red layer at both ends with the Triple Banner Punch.  The Smoky Slate layer is cut with one of the Lots of Labels dies (see below) and then trimmed to slightly wider than the greeting.
