Kindest Gnomes Christmas Waterfall card

A Christmas Waterfall card featuring Kindest Gnomes

I made this card as a sample for a class teaching Waterfall cards - and because it's that time of year when I start the Christmas card making process.

I changed the dimensions for the waterfall to accommodate these gorgeous gnomes - the ones that I promised myself I wasn't going to buy ....!

Each of the "flip" sections features a different gnome

The waterfall mechanism is made from Real Red cardstock and perfectly fits my normal size base card (1/2 sheet of A4 folded in half).  The base card is also Real Red, with mats of Old Olive.  The Designer Series Paper is from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue and is called Boughs of Holly.

There are four gnome images in the stamp set along with a "dwelling"

I used Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to coordinate with the paper.  The ribbon picks out the darker green splodges in the paper and is also in the Mini Catalogue in the Real Red & Garden Green 1cm ribbon combo pack.

The stamp set is very versatile with greetings covering a variety of occasions, not just Christmas

I made the Whisper White pieces 2 1/2" square to accommodate the gnome without seeing lots of feet in the waterfall!  The Real Red mats are 2 3/4" which means I also made the waterfall mechanism strip 2 3/4" wide.  See image below for the full dimensions.  Although I've changed the dimensions, the method for making the waterfall card remains as per usual.

I wanted to shape the pull tag and decided to use this die from the Painted Labels die set.  I just wanted to shape the very end, so I lined up the die with edge of the card and then placed the top cutting plate just over that edge so that only the end would cut (see below).

Glimmery Snowflake Wishes - Non-traditional Christmas Card

A glimmery, glittery, over-the-top black & silver Christmas card featuring the Snowflake Wishes Bundle

I suddenly realised the other day that the Christmas cards that I'd been making so far lacked my usual seasonal bling.  I think I may have over-compensated!

However, despite all the glitter and bling, this is at heart a very easy card to make!  

I have to apologise though - until I started preparing my list of products used I had not noticed the retirement of the Silver Glimmer Paper - a sad loss!  If I were to make this card again, I would substitute Silver Foil Sheet for the Silver Glimmer Paper.

Christmas cards: Heat Embossed Poinsettia Petals Bundle with Plush Poinsettia

Poinsettia Petals Bundle with Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper in traditional colours

Following on from Friday's card, more fun with the Poinsettia Petals Bundle from the Poinsettia Place Suite.

This time I heat embossed the images from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and cut them out with the coordinating Poinsettia Dies before arranging them onto a layer of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper.

For both cards I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut the label out with one of the Ornate Frames dies.  For the top card I also used Shaded Spruce card and ink, All The Trimmings ribbon and Wonderful Gems

For the second card I used  white heat embossing, Pretty Peacock card and ink, Beaded Pearls, Elegant Faceted Gems and Snowflake Splendor ribbon.

Christmas Gleaming Suite - Another Quick & Simple Card

A quick and easy Christmas card for those last minute occasions!

I reckon that if you're still looking for Christmas card ideas for this year (2019), you may be in a spot of bother!  However, the good news is that this is a really quick and simple card to put together!

It's really just layers of Night of Navy cardstock, Copper Foil Sheet, Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Remember to cut the middle out of the copper foil so that you can use it in another project.

The star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements is backed with Night of Navy cardstock and there's a Faceted Gem in the centre.

I looked for the biggest, boldest greeting in my collection (sorry that I can't remember from which set!) and punched it out with the Everyday Label punch.  Then I added a couple of Star Designer Elements.

Christmas card made very quickly with Feels Like Frost paper, Stitched Nested Labels and Beautiful Boughs dies

Continuing my quest to create lots of quick and easy Christmas cards ... this is the "other side" of the gorgeous Feels Like Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper that makes Christmas card making really easy!

Bulk Christmas cards are quick and easy to make with the Feels Like Frost papers!

Always mindful of avoiding wastage ... I used the leftover cardstock (from cutting the labels above) and offcuts of the pretty paper to make more cards and then used extra bits and pieces from my table to finish decorating.  I figure if someone receives a hand made Christmas card, they're not going to complain if I put a gold embossed bauble on a piece of silver paper!

Using up the remnants - one way to avoid wastage!
