Joyful Holly Metallics

A metallic Christmas card featuring the Joyful Holly stamp set

Such a simple card!  .... So hard to photograph!  One day I'll remember that I struggle to photograph metallic cards!

The image from the Joyful Holly stamp set is gold heat embossed onto a piece of Brushed Metallic cardstock.  Then I silver heat embossed the greeting.

I cut a Silver Foil frame with a couple of the Stitched Rectangle dies and then adhered the pieces to the Blackberry Bliss base card.

Final touches were to add the bow of Basket Weave Metallic ribbon and some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The little black cat is my shadow - he follows me from room to room all day ... lucky I don't live in 17th Century Salem!  Mostly, he's well-behaved but as soon as I stand up and turn around, he steals my chair!

Christmas cards: Heat Embossed Poinsettia Petals Bundle with Plush Poinsettia

Poinsettia Petals Bundle with Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper in traditional colours

Following on from Friday's card, more fun with the Poinsettia Petals Bundle from the Poinsettia Place Suite.

This time I heat embossed the images from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and cut them out with the coordinating Poinsettia Dies before arranging them onto a layer of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper.

For both cards I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut the label out with one of the Ornate Frames dies.  For the top card I also used Shaded Spruce card and ink, All The Trimmings ribbon and Wonderful Gems

For the second card I used  white heat embossing, Pretty Peacock card and ink, Beaded Pearls, Elegant Faceted Gems and Snowflake Splendor ribbon.

Butterfly Wishes Wash

Butterfly Wishes, a simple heat embossing technique and the Parisian Flourish embossing folder 

Sadly, my memory being what it is, I can't remember the name of this technique!  Perhaps someone will remind me.

For the butterfly strip, I sponged a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Gorgeous Grape ink.  Then I gave it a good going over with my Embossing Buddy before clear heat embossing the butterflies.

Then I spritzed with water and used some paper towel to lift off some of the ink, leaving the butterflies darker.

Very Vintage Quartet

Who doesn't love a card set?  They make such great gifts!  I wasn't actually planning to make a set but I liked the first one so much that I just kept going!

A set of four cards featuring the retiring hostess stamp set - Very Vintage

I really just set out to say a fond farewell to a retiring stamp set that I like very much - the hostess set called Very Vintage.

This version of the Very Vintage card featured silver heat embossing and Silver Foil Sheet

It's a very quick and simple card.  All the elements of the Very Vintage stamp set are heat embossed onto Basic Black cardstock.  Then layered with a matching Foil Sheet or cardstock and adhered to the Basic Black base card. 

I then added some coordinating bling - sequins, rhinestones or pearls.

This gold version of the Very Vintage card is embellished with Gold Metallic Pearls and Gold Foil Sheet

The greeting panel is punched out with the coordinating Darling Label Punch but I wanted to add a layer behind it.  So I cut piece of foil or cardstock 1/4" larger than the widest part of the label and adhered the label to the centre.  Then I carefully punched away the corners with a 1/2" circle punch.

This version of the Very Vintage card uses Copper heat embossing and Copper Foil Sheet
with some Adhesive Backed Sequins

TIP:  I cut out the centre of the foil sheet layers to make my precious foil go as far as possible!

This white version of the Very Vintage card was actually the first one I made
I added some Adhesive Backed Sequins for a bit of bling

TIP:  Remember to swipe the black cardstock with an Embossing Buddy before stamping with the Versamark.  This will ensure that the embossing powder only sticks where you want it to stick.
