Flirty Flowers on Glossy Watercolour

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Project Highlights.  Click here to see all the great entries and vote for your favourites.

I managed to tear myself away from the Embossing Paste long enough to  play with some ink and glossy paper again.  There was some Pacific Point and Melon Mambo ink on my craft mat after a (failed) attempt at a technique that's new to me.  So, I spritzed the craft mat with water and grabbed some pieces of Glossy Paper to smoosh in the puddles.  Waste not, want not!  I'm still thinking about what to do with my failure (other than introducing it to the bin!)

A black silhouette is very effective against a watercolour background

This was the smallest piece and when it was dry I stamped the image with Basic Black ink.

I stamped the greeting with Pacific Point ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes dies, layering it onto a scalloped circle of Pacific Point that was cut with one of the Layering Circles.

Lastly, I added a bow and tails of Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon.

Thank you for your visit.
'Til next time!
Stephanie

I'm so excited (and also a bit intimidated!) about this Blog Hop - when I discovered Jay was to be our Guest Stamper I actually squealed - because I just LOVE his work (always imaginative, beautifully executed and brimming with inspiration) and have been following Jay and Barry at Mitosu Crafts for a long time. So it was extremely difficult to choose which amazing piece to CASE!  Eventually I chose this one because it would lead me to do something new for me.

And this is what I did with it.

I clear heat embossed the centre flower and masked it before stamping the other image three times with Whisper White Craft ink.  I then removed the mask and, using a paintbrush, coloured the centre flower with the same white craft ink, building up layers of pigment.

The greeting is white heat embossed.
If I were to do this again, I would stamp off the image directly behind the centre flower.

Tip:
As always when using white craft ink, care needs to be taken to avoid smudging as you work because it takes a long time to dry.

Thanks for following our blog hop. Remember that currently you are at my blog - Stephanie Fischer - so click on the next name in the list to ensure that you don't miss out of seeing any of the blogs and the amazing inspiration they contain.

Thanks for visiting
'Til next time
