Pick A Raccoon Pattern - Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

I thought I'd have a go at recreating the little black and white animal in the new Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper.  I'm not entirely sure what it is - is it a raccoon?

Anyway, I created my little creature sitting on a log using the Foxy Friends stamp set and matching Fox Builder Punch which are continuing into the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue.

He's layered onto a medallion of Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles.  The tree is fussy cut and I used the banner from the Cupcake Cutouts framelits for the greeting, which is from the Pretty Kitty stamp set.

A Fox Builder raccoon?

The use of Stampin' Dimensionals gives our little friend some depth.

Thank you for visiting.

Mischievous cats & a ball of string

This thank you card is for a friend who loves cats.  Unfortunately, her husband has an allergy to them.  Hopefully this mischievous pair will bring a smile to her face!

The 6" square Island Indigo card is layered with Soft Sky cardstock and some of the gorgeous Blooms and Bliss DSP.

The cat bodies and sentiment are stamped with Soft Suede ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  The sentiment is from One Big Meaning and the little flourish is part of a stamp in the Banners For You set.

I masked the bodies before I stamped the tails.  The heads are stamped onto a separate piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and punched out with the matching punch.  The bodies and heads are Soft Suede ink stamped off (the ears are then dabbled in Early Espresso ink).  The faces are Basic Black and the tails are full strength Soft Suede.

I used one of the Lots of Labels framelits to cut an aperture in the top layer of DSP and created a frame for it in Soft Sky cardstock by using the same size framelit and the next size up.

I then adhered this layer to the Very Vanilla piece, positioning it around the cats.  I stamped the greeting and then adhered all my layers.  Once the layers were in place, I added the cats heads with a dimensional.

The ball of string is a length of Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine that I wrapped around my fingers.  Once I was happy with the shape, I carefully put it on my silicone mat upside down and doused the back with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I left it to dry for several hours and by the time I wanted to used, it was tacky enough to simply press down onto the card.  I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add a touch of glue to the tail of the string.

Thank you for your visit

Foxy cat

It was my son's birthday recently and since he loves cats I decided to try out my new Foxy Friends stamp set.

A friendly and slightly curious cat
I made the card with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock measuring 6" x 12", scored on the long side at 4" and 8".

For the front of the card, I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to 3.75" x 5.75" and used Versamark and the Diagonal Stripe background stamp to create the diagonal lines.  I adhered that piece to the front of the card and then used the second largest Layering Ovals Framelit to cut a window.

I'm struggling to adapt to the winter light for my photographs!

I cut a piece of Crumb Cake DSP (from the Neutrals DSP Stack) to 3.75" x 5.75" and adhered that to the next piece of the card.  I refolded the card and used a pencil to lightly draw around the inside of the aperture in the front of the card.  I used the pencil marks to line up the same die to cut a window in this layer.

I then used the same oval die and the largest oval die to cut two frames from Mint Macaron cardstock and glued them in place.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 3.75" x 5.75" and temporarily positioned it on the middle section while I made a very light mark through the "window" to help me line up the stamped image.  I then stamped the body of the cat using Soft Suede ink (stamped off).  I masked the body and stamped the tail with Soft Suede ink.  I only half inked the legs because cats have shorter legs than foxes! I inked up the head with Soft Suede ink and stamped off once, then I tapped jusst the ears into Early Espresso ink and stamped the image on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I added the face stamped in Basic Black and then punched out the head.  I trimmed back to the ink line on the bottom half of the head with snips and then stuck the head to the body with a dimensional.

I left the inside of the card fairly simple to maximise space for my loving message to my son

I used Birthday Banners bundle and Banners For You Bundle using Early Espresso ink and Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the front of the card.  I also cut thin strips of Mint Macaron and stamped the paw print from Foxy Friends with Early Espresso ink and stuck them to the top and bottom of both flaps of the card.

The banner on the inside flap of the card uses the Birthday Banners and matching framelit and a sentiment from Feather Together.  I just picked up a little Soft Suede ink with an aqua painter to add a little shadow to "ground" the cat.

Thanks for your visit
