Poppy Moments - Brass and Black on Red

A simple but effective card made with the Poppy Moments Dies

I hadn't been able to make any cards recently as my craft room was overtaken by my sewing machine while I made face masks .... lots of face masks!

I finally put the machine away last night, so I've started trying to catch up on my cardmaking!  Luckily, it's pretty easy to make cards quickly with Stampin' Up products!

I cut the poppies from Brass Foil Sheet and Basic Black card stock and added centres of Basic Gray.  The leaves were cut from Black and Basic Gray cardstock.  Then I added them to my Basic Gray base card with layers of Black and Real Red.

I added a strip of black card to balance the weight of the black in the poppies, stamped the greeting in Tuxedo Black ink and added some Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Simple, quick, effective!

Poppy Moments Purple Sympathy Card

A sympathy card featuring the Poppy Moments Dies

As I mentioned on Friday, last week I found myself in need to two sympathy cards.  This is the second.

Using the dies and embossing folder makes this a very quick and simple card but I'm pleased with the result.  

I resisted the temptation to fill the top right corner with some bling to keep it nice and flat for its long journey to England.

Peaceful Moments Poppies Theatre Card - A fun Fold

Continuing from Monday's masculine theatre card, this is a feminine version.  Check out Nicky Nack's Papercrafts for a great video tutorial for this versatile fun fold.

I used the Poppy Moments Dies, Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper and Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder to decorate my basic fun fold card.

TIP:  When decorating this fun fold, make sure to only adhere decorative elements (such as the poppies and leaves) to the outside "frame" of the card.

Golden Honey Poppy Sympathy

A Sympathy card created with the Poppy Moments Dies and Golden Honey papers

The Poppy Moments Dies did the heavy lifting for this card, using Basic Black, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

I watercoloured the flowers on the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper, layered it onto a piece of black cardstock and added some Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon.

The word "sympathy" is cut from black cardstock using one of the Well Written Dies.

I just wish I'd moved that leaf before the glue set! Timeless Tropical Bundle & Poppy Moments Dies

I wish ... if only ... I should have ... These are the phrases that sometimes go through my head when I take a good look at a card I've finished in a bit of a hurry - like this one!  If only I'd positioned that right leaf a little lower!

Ah well - here it is in its flawed state - a learning experience!

Towards the top of the Soft Sea Foam layer I applied some Shimmery White Embossing Paste through my home made stencil that I cut with one of the Poppy Moments Dies.
