Free As A Bird on Bermuda Bay

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #saleabration #freeasabird #scripty , Sale-A-Bration, Free As A Bird, Scripty, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper is so versatile!
And it's FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order
Well, it's official - I'm totally besotted with the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper!  And not because I got it FREE (with my qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration) - although I love that too - but because it's stunning!!!  And versatile!!

So I've been finding all sorts of things to do with it and pair with it!

This card began with my desire to colour a piece of the golden honeycomb design.  I used a sponge brayer to apply some Bermuda Bay ink.

Then I watercoloured and cut out a bird from the Free As A Bird stamp set, added a greeting stamped onto a label cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels that forms part of the Free As A Bird Bundle (10% saving!) and ran the Bermuda Bay layer through the Big Shot with the Scripty 3D embossing folder.

My advice? .... Take advantage of Sale-A-Bration while it lasts! (until 31st March).

Thanks for visiting.

Free As A Bird Against Painted Glass

In the midst of cancer treatment, my thoughts have been turning more and more frequently to escape!  On this particular day I was thinking about the tragedy of the fire damage to Notre Dame in Paris and was inspired to use the Painted Glass stamp set.
#thecraftythinker.com.au #stampinup #freeasabird #paintedglass #cardmaking , Free As A Bird, Layered Leaves, Painted Glass, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Freedom and escape were in my thoughts as I created this card with the Free As A Bird and Painted Glass stamp sets
For me, the bird (from the Free As A Bird stamp set) represents freedom, escape and hope as it sits on the branch, poised to fly off, with not a thought in its head except finding the next meal!

Thank you for visiting (and your patience).

Free As A Bird with Delicate Lace - A Masculine Card

I set myself the task of making a masculine card using the Free As A Bird stamp set and came up with this card.  It's also inspired by "my little buddy" - see below for the explanation.
#thecraftythinker #stampinup #masculinecard #cardmaking #freeasabird , Free As A Bird, Masculine Card, Paper-piecing, Delicate Lace dies, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A masculine card featuring the Free As a Bird stamp set
Using the Delicate Lace Die, I cut a section from the Basic Black card front.  I then used the same die to cut some Whisper White card and an offcut of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper and glued the pieces into position.

The bird is coloured with Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends alcohol markers and then fussy cut before adhering to the card front.

The greeting (from Good Morning Magnolia) is white heat embossed.

The base card is Gray Granite.

Just recently I rescued a Noisy Miner that was being bullied by a group of others and (having crashed into the windows a few times) ended up floating  face down in the pool, wings spread.  I waited for my husband to come home to help me take it to WIRES and tried placing it in a box (as they suggested) but, as it turned out, it would only settle while sitting on my hand.  It had a sleep, preened and chirped occasionally,  It was really very sweet.  My little buddy for the afternoon!

Free As A Bird in Yellow & Blue

These little birds are just so darn cute!  I Googled "little birds" to find some images to help me colour them and fell for the cheerful colours in these little guys.
#thecraftythinker #freeasabird #2019AnnualCatalogue #cardmaking #rubberstamping , Free As A Bird, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A bright & cheerful card featuring the Free As A Bird Bundle
I stamped onto Whisper White card with Stazon black ink and then watercoloured with Blueberry Bushel and Crushed Curry ink.  There's also some Soft Suede, Garden Green and Petal Pink for the tree and a light wash of Balmy Blue for a hint of sky.

I used the coordinating Stitched Nested Labels die (part of the Free As A Bird Bundle) to cut out the piece and then layered it onto the Crushed Curry base card with Blueberry Bushel layer that was cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles dies.

Just for a little more interest, I added some Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

Thank you for visiting.

Free As A Bird on Come Sail Away

This card is a big thank you to a very special, supportive and generous lady.
#thecraftythinker #freeasabird #2019AnnualCatalogue #cardmaking #rubberstamping , Free As A Bird, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A multipurpose card made with the Free As A Bird stamp set and Come Sail Away paper
The base card is Balmy Blue with layers of Basic Gray and Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the bird from Free As A Bird on Whisper White cardstock with Stazon ink and then watercoloured with Smokey Slate, Balmy Blue and Pacific Point inks before cutting it out with one of the Stitched Nested Labels.  I cut a larger label from a piece of the Come Sail Away paper and layered them before chopping off one end.

The greeting is stamped with Pacific Point ink.

Thank you for visiting.
