Dotty Paper Pieced Beautiful You

If you saw my earlier post, you may recognise the little piece of stamped background paper that I made using the Avant-Gard stamp set (FREE with a purchase of $90 during Sale-A-Bration)

The elegant lady is from the Beautiful You stamp set

The gorgeously elegant lady is from the Beautiful You stamp set in the Occasions 2017 catalogue.

I stamped her twice: once onto Whisper White cardstock and one onto the patterned side of a leftover piece of Sweet Sugarplum Envelope Paper from the In-Colour 2016-2018 pack. I then cut around the dress and hat on the patterned piece and glued them onto the black and white image.

I used Watercolour Pencils and an Aqua Painter to add colour to her skin.

The main image is cut out with an oval Stitched Shapes framelit and layered with Rich Razzleberry cut with a Layering Oval framelit.

The greeting is heat embossed in white onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry and then cut with a die from the Project Life Cards & Labels set. I added a couple of Metal Rimmed Pearls to finish it off.

It's both fun and useful to stamp your own background cardstock

Beautiful You in Striped dress with Avant-Garden background

Sweet Sugarplum and Beautiful You go so well together!

The paper I used for the dress and hat is the patterned side of Envelope paper from the 2016-2018 In-Colour pack.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black onto Sweet Sugarplum card and cut out with a square Stitched Shapes Framelit - altered to create an oblong.

Sale-A-Bration 2017 Sneak Peek: Avant-Garden

I just love a freebie and it's even better when the freebie is absolutely gorgeous! That's how I feel about this Sale-A-Bration freebie called Avant-Garden. It will be available from 4th January FREE with a purchase of $90. Better yet - it's just one of many stunning offerings in Sale-A-Bration this year.

All stamps used here are from the set Avant-Garden which is FREE with a purchase of $90

First I made a sheet of background cardstock using two of the stamps in the set. I stamped onto Whisper White card with Sahara Sand and second generation Sweet Sugarplum (that is, I stamped off onto scrap paper first). The sheet of card that I stamped was almost A4 in size so you'll see it on a few projects in the next few days!

I next stamped the detailed flower three times onto a piece of Whisper White and coloured it with Watercolour Pencils and an Aqua Painter. I then cut it out with an oval Stitched Shape Framelit. I used the next size up of Stitched Shape Framelit to cut out a piece of Sahara Sand card and then added layers of Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry using the Layering Ovals die set.

I stamped the greeting in Basic Black onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum and cut it out with one of the Project Life Cards & Labels framelits. I added a layer under it cut from Rich Razzleberry card with one of the other dies from the same set.

The base card is Sahara Sand to which I added layers of Rich Razzlebery, Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugarplum and finally the stamped background.

The final touch was a bow made with the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon.
