Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Beach Christmas Fun Fold

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters' Blog Hop!  We don't have a special guest this time around but there'll still be lots of inspiration!

Whether you are starting the blog hop here at my blog, Stephanie Fischer - The Crafty Thinker, or have come from the person before me, be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

My card is a CASE of this card by Katy Harrison.

A simple but effective Beachy Christmas card suitable for Australia
The basic card is very simple - a 12" x 6" piece of Marina Mist cardstock scored and folded at 3" and 6".

For the choppy sea waves, I used Dapper Denim cardstock and the "negative" pieces left after using the Seasonal Layers scallop die.  I layered these onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock which was in turn adhered to the lower part of my Marina Mist card.

The images from Beachy Little Christmas were stamped with Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured with Stampin' Write Markers before being fussy cut and adhered to the card.

The clouds from the Weather Together stamp set were stamped with Smoky Slate ink and cut with the matching dies.

The greeting could also have been placed in the bottom right corner of the card

I cut the Lemon Lime Twist strip of cardstock a little wider than the sentiment and trimmed all the ends with one of the Lots of Layers dies.

To help the card support itself, I cut another small piece of Marina Mist cardstock, scored and folded it and then added adhesive to the folded down end.

I cut and folded a small piece of card to form a support

I adhered this support piece as shown in the photograph below.

The support "easel" is in position

This side view of the card shows the little support doing its job!

It doesn't show in the photos but I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the "downward slope" behind the beach scene to provide an area to write a personal message.

Ready For a Beachy Little Christmas

One of my friends recently made a sea change so this will be her first Christmas by the beach - this card may be for her!

Christmas Staircase meets Beachy Little Christmas - a stamp set so suitable for Xmas in Australia!

Having cut the staircase from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper with the die from the Christmas Staircase Thinlits, I used a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to emphasise the lovely embossed details and add a little shading.

I stamped the tree image from Beachy Little Christmas in Sahara Sand ink and then, using a Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker, inked the branches.  I don't think I could have done this manually - I made use (finally!) of my precision stamping folder (like a Misti).

I then used Stampin' Write Markers to add colour and definition to the rest of the image.

Having masked the bucket, I then sponged on some Crumb Cake ink to provide a suggestion of flooring and stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink.

Lastly, I added a layer of Wood Textures paper to the Real Red base card before adhering my card topper.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!
Stephanie
