Pleated Delightful Daisy with a Pansy

I love to learn new techniques and there's nothing more fun than exploring a new technique with a good friend!

My friend, Judy, arrived armed with her measurements and trial runs having made the decision that we would make some cards with pleated paper.  We had a wonderful morning choosing our papers, making the pleats and then figuring out what to do with them!

A cheerful, multipurpose card

So this is the first of the two cards I made with pleats.  I kept the greeting generic so that I could use the card for most purposes.  It's a cheerful card, so could become a Get Well card or a birthday card.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Beach Christmas Fun Fold

A simple but effective Beachy Christmas card suitable for Australia

The basic card is very simple - a 12" x 6" piece of Marina Mist cardstock scored and folded at 3" and 6".

For the choppy sea waves, I used Dapper Denim cardstock and the "negative" pieces left after using the Seasonal Layers scallop die.  I layered these onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock which was in turn adhered to the lower part of my Marina Mist card.

The images from Beachy Little Christmas were stamped with Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured with Stampin' Write Markers before being fussy cut and adhered to the card.

The clouds from the Weather Together stamp set were stamped with Smoky Slate ink and cut with the matching dies.

The greeting could also have been placed in the bottom right corner of the card

I cut the Lemon Lime Twist strip of cardstock a little wider than the sentiment and trimmed all the ends with one of the Lots of Layers dies.

To help the card support itself, I cut another small piece of Marina Mist cardstock, scored and folded it and then added adhesive to the folded down end.

I adhered this support piece as shown in the photograph below.

Side view shows the simple folded card with the attached support easel.

It doesn't show in the photos but I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the "downward slope" behind the beach scene to provide an area to write a personal message.

Hometown Greetings Trifold - Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek

The plan for this card started hatching as soon as I saw this gorgeous bundle in the new Holiday Catalogue (runs from 1 September 2017 to 2 January 2018).

This trifold card uses the new Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies

The bundle comprises the Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies and the Hearts Come Home stamp set to provide a saving of 10%.

I made a trifold with an A4 piece of Night of Navy cardstock cut to 10.5" long.  I scored the long side at 3.5" and 7" and folded in the right side and then folded over the left side.

The folds are cut at different levels to create a series of hills

I then made Whisper White layers cut with the three "hometown" dies in the set.  Before I adhered the die cut layers to the base card, I glued pieces of So Saffron cardstock behind the buildings to light up the windows.

The greetings are from new sets: Snoflake Sentiments and Hearts Come Home

 I then cut down the two folds as far as the die cuts and fussy cut around the shapes.

There's plenty of space for a hand-written greeting

I coloured the trees roughly with some Emerald Envy ink and then gave them a layer of Embossing Paste snow.  I also added some Embossing paste to the roofs.
