Metallic Merry Tag Trio

I couldn't resist another card with copper baubles!

The little snowflake is from the middle of one of the Christmas Stockings Thinlits

The card is an A5 piece of Basic Gray folded in half. There's a layer of Silver Foil Sheet and then a final layer of Basic Gray that was embossed with the Pine Bough embossing folder.

I used the Layering Circles dies to cut one circle out of Copper and another from Silver Foil Sheets. I ran these through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling embossing folder to get a dotty texture. I cut a bauble rim in copper with one of the Merry Tags framelits and glued it to the front of the silver circle. I already had the top half of a Merry Tag in silver left over from a previous card and glued that to the copper circle.

I cut the more elaborate Merry Tag from Silver Foil and used the circular die in the set to cut some copper which I glued to the centre of the bauble.

To obtain the pretty little snowflake for the centre of the bauble, I used a scrap of Silver Foil and cut it with a die from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits (one of the stockings has the snowflake in the centre of it).

I used Gold twine from the Bakers Twine Trio Pack to hang the baubles from a piece of Silver Foil cut with a Cheerful Tags framelit.

Christmas Stockings and Merry Tag

This card started with the little silver reindeer that was leftover from this card!

The little silver reindeer was a leftover from a previous card, cut from another Merry Tag bauble

The Basic Gray card is 51/2" square, layered with Silver Foil Sheet, Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper and a final layer of Basic Gray.

The Christmas Stockings are cut in Silver and Copper Foil with tops of Fancy Frost Specialty paper.

The Merry Tags bauble is cut in Copper Foil Sheet with a Whisper White backing cut with one of the Layering Circles framelits. I glued the little silver reindeer to the centre of the bauble.

The three main elements are "suspended" from the Noel banner from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits which is decorated with holly, cut with dies from the same set, of Cucumber Crush and Red Foil. Unfortunately the red foil is now retired - but I seem to still have LOADS of it.

Merry Tags & Plaid

I've had extra bits of pine sitting on my desk from a card I made a few weeks ago and decided it was time to stop moving them out of the way and use them up!

I used a combination of metallics in this card to contrast against the green plaid and plain grey cardstock

I kept it quite simple and just created some layers of Smoky Slate and Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper on my Basic Gray card.

In one corner I added the pine branches (Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz) and cone (Copper Foil) that had been knocking around for some time. I only glued a little bit of the boughs, so that they remain loose.

I cut one of the Merry Tags once in Silver Foil and once in Copper Foil. I then cut the reindeer and treese from the copper version, leaving enough of a "tail" so that I could attach them to the back of the silver one.

I cut the reindeer off the silver bauble, following the "snow line". I kept him for use on a later card - thus continuing my ever-present pile of elements awaiting use!

I carefully removed the smaller tree from the silver bauble then with Multi-Purpose Glue on the "tails", I adhered the copper reindeer and tree into position.

I cut some Basic Gray cardstock with one of the Layering Circle dies and adhered it to the back of the bauble.

I made a loop with some of the gold bakers twine from the Trio Pack, looped it over a pine bough and used a glue dot to keep it in position. I positioned the bauble with a dimensional.

The final touch was the bow of silver Glitter Ribbon in the top corner.

This card could easily be stepped up by using an embossing folder or ink on the top layer or perhaps shaping the edges with some die-cutting.

Christmas Pine & Merry Tag with copper

I find neutral colours really soothing, especially at Christmas when they create an elegant contrast to all the reds and greens. I will always love traditional Christmas colours but every so often I find my eyes need a rest!

The greeting is heat embossed with the gorgeous copper embossing powder

The 5.5" square card is made from Crumb Cake cardstock. I do like this size because I can get a nice square card from a piece of A4 cardstock. I added a layer of Very Vanilla, then Copper Foil Sheet followed by a piece of Candy Cane Lane DSP. Since I love the Copper Foil so much and know I'll be using a lot of it - I decided to employ a little trick to stretch it as far as possible. I removed the centre of the square before adhering the decorative paper to the top.

I cut the pine branches in Garden Green and Wild Wasabi cardstock and layered them onto the top of the card using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I used the glue towards the bottom end of the sprigs, leaving the top ends free to add some dimension to the card.

I cut one of the pine cones from Copper Foil Sheet and adhered it under some of the branches.

I cut the Merry Tag with Very Vanilla cardstock and also in Garden Green. I used oddments of the Copper Foil (strategically placed under the die) to cut the star and the base.

Using the Layering Circles dies, I cut a circle of cardstock just a little smaller than the tag and adhered them together. I then used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to insert and adhere the green and copper elements of the tree design.

I placed Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the tag. I looped some cord around one of the branches and adhered it to the back of the tag before sticking the tag to the card front. I haven't yet purchased the Baker's Twine Trio Pack (but it's high on my wish list!) so I had to use a retired silver cord on this card.
