This is Wendy's beautiful card that inspired me.
I dotted some White Craft Ink into the sky with a small brush for subtle stars
I will be giving it to my wonderful husband for Fathers' Day.
I used the piece I cut from the edge of the panel to decorate the inside of the card
The techniques used are sponging and the reflection technique. There are many great tutorials available for this technique which simply involves stamping the silhouette image onto a shiny surface such as a a piece of Window Sheeet, acetate or (as I do) the plastic sheet that forms part of the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, turning it ink side down, positioning it and rubbing so that the ink transfers to the cardstock.

I had so much fun with the Joseph's Coat technique for yesterday's Blog Hop that I thought I'd take it a bit further.
I don't know if there's a name for this or even it it's actually a "thing" (well, if not, I guess it is now!) but I like to think of it as "Joseph's Coat for control freaks" (such as I)! Ultimately, it's a type of emboss resist. I have also included here a short video tutorial.
The centre panel started life as a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I rubbed it with my Embossing Buddy before I started - I think that step is quite important in order to control the embossing powder.
Using the zig-zag stamp from Work of Art, I inked it well with Versamark and then tapped it into Tempting Turquoise ink before stamping onto one end of my white panel. I then immediately sprinked it with clear embossing powder.
I then wiped my stamp clean with a damp cloth, dried it (with my hand!) and repeated the process at the other end of the panel.
I then used the greeting from Mixed Borders but only used Versamark before sprinkling with the clear embosing powder.
The next step was the circle of dots from Perfectly Wrapped, again just using Versamark and clear embossing powder.
Then I used the large solid flower from Perfectly Wrapped, coated it with Versamark and then tapped it into Peakaboo Peach ink, stamped it on my panel and sprinkled with clear embossing powder. I reapeated this twice so that I had three Peakaboo Peach flowers.
Using the small solid flower from Perfectly Wrapped, I used Versamark then Sweet Sugarplum before stamping and adding embossing powder. I stamped five of these.
Next was the small flower (or star) outline from Perfectly Wrapped, for which I used Versamark and Daffodil Delight ink before adding the embossing powder.
Lastly I used the dots from the No Bones About It stamp set with just Versamark before applying the embossing powder.
After using the heat tool and allowing it to cool for a minute or two, I sponged with Dapper Denim ink and then used a tissue to wipe the ink from the heat embossing.
I added White Perfect Accents to the centres of the Peakaboo Peak flowers and Rhinestones to the centres of the smaller flowers.
I wrapped some Solid Bakers Twine around the bottom of the panel (it was Whisper White twine that I died Peakaboo Peach) and then finished the card layers.
Layer Dimensions:
Main card: Sweet Sugarplum. Cut a 4.25" wide piece from an A4 sheet. Fold in half to produce a card that is 4.25" by just under 6"
(5 7/8 to be exact!).
Whisper White: 3 1/2" x 5 1/8"
Dapper Denim: 3 3/8" x 5"
Josheph's Coat panel: 3 1/8" x 4 3/4"
This is the card I made with the panel from the video tutorial. The colours are Flirty Flamingo & Peakaboo Peach
Tips and tricks:
Keep to hand a damp cloth (to clean the stamps) and your clear embossing powder.
When using coloured ink, always clean and dry the stamps between uses so that you don't transfer ink to your Versamark ink pad.
I prefer to sprinkle the embossing powder soon after stamping the image, so I sprinkled the embossing powder before changing to a different stamp or colour.
Photopolymer stamps are the best for this process because you can see exactly where you're stamping. The zig-zag stamp I used is rubber (one of the Clear stamp sets) so I used it first. I personally would only use a photopolymer greeting because I wouldn't have the courage to try to line up a rubber greeting stamp without the use of a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig - which would not be feasible.
The Botanical Builder adds more depth and movement and softens the layers

We had the pleasure, today, of attending the 70th birthday party of a dear friend and this is the card I made for him. It's a half swing card which I've decorated with Vintage Leaves.
I have also made a video tutorial for this card.
I've taken photos from a variety of angles in attempt to record the three dimensional nature of the card.

This is the front of the card and how it looks when it's closed.
The card is made from cardstock in one of the new In Colours - Dapper Denim (141434). I'm completely besotted with this colour!
I die cut the centre of card and also made the frame using the new Layering Squares Framelits (141708) that will be released with the new Annual Catalogue on 1 June 2016.
The frame and banner are made from Sahara Sand cardstock and inside the frame is a tag of Tangelo Twist, to which I've adhered the number 70,
The numbers are stamped (using the Number of Years set) in Early Espresso ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then I applied a coat of gold Wink of Stella.
I die cut the numbers with the matching Large Numbers Framelits.
I stamped a variety of the leaves from Vintage Leaves in Basic Black ink to the following cardstock: Sahara Sand, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.
The card looks so different (and just as great!) from every angle
The leaves are randomly sponged with Dapper Denim, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink.
I glued the leaves in place, being careful not to foul the opening mechanism, before adding the number-bearing tag.
The greeting is a sneak peek of one the greetings included with the new stamp set Mixed Borders (141932) that's in the new Annual Catalogue. I stamped it in Basic Black onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then hand cut it into a banner.
I cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock to fit inside the card
(1 7/8" x 5 1/8") and stamped it with a birthday greeting from the Tin of Cards stamp set.
I've included a diagram, dimensions and instructions below and there is also an accompanying video tutorial.
The little attaching tabs are hidden once the card is finished
With a half swing card, the front panel of the card is still visible when the card is open!
The Vintage Leaves are overlapped and adhered to the centre square panel of the card.
Instructions:
This diagram provides dimensions, scoring and glue positions
Cut Piece 1 to 8.5" x 5.5". Score and fold at 4.25"
Use a die to remove a piece from the centre of the front of the card. Keep the die cut.
Cut Piece 2 to 6.5" x 5.25". Score at 2", 4" and 6"
On side with the 1/4" fold - cut from the edge as far as the score line 1/4" from each side of the card and then cut along the score line between these two cuts to remove the centre centre. This will leave two small flaps.
Fan fold Piece 2 on the score lines and place adhesive on the back of part A.
Adhere part A to the edge of Pieced 1, as shown.
Place adhesive on the flaps and close the card to adhere the flaps to the inside of the front of the card.
With the card closed, place adhesive on the bit of Piece 2 that is showing through the aperture.
Place the die cut back into place to adhere it to Piece 2.
Decorate as desired.
