International Blog Highlight - December 2016 - Up & Away Retirement Card

Thanks for coming to my blog today! We are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please vote for my project. You can do that here.

Our theme for this highlight is encouragement as we all need a kind word said to us to build us up.

The simple front of this card hides a secret!
This is a card that I made for a very valued staff member (they're ALL very valued!) who is retiring this week.  It's a Twist and Pop fun fold .

The Wild About Flowers stamp set is great for retirement sentiments

I thought the balloons and mountain scenery were appropriate for someone who will probably travel a bit in her retirement.

Mix and match the Lift Me Up stamp Set, Up & Away Thinlits and Carried Away paper for great results

I added just a touch of shading with the new Watercolour Pencils and an Aquapainter

Creating an oblong with a square Stitched Shapes framelit is very easy
The really special bit is inside the card.  Once it has twisted and popped, she'll have photographic mementos of her colleagues and fun times.

I haven't added to the plethora of tutorials for Twist and Pop cards.  If you've never made one but would like to - just google "Twist & Pop Card" and you'll have plenty to choose from.

If you'd like more information about any of the techniques or products I've used - please feel free to contact me.

The Carried Away Designer Series Paper will be available for FREE from 4th January to 31st March with a purchase of $90.  It matches perfectly with the Lift Me Up Bundle in the new Occasions Catalogue (available 4th January) - so I'm sure you'll want to take advantage of that special offer.

If you live in Australia, don't currently have a Stampin' Up! Distributor, don't yet have a copy of the catalogues but would like to .... do let me know by contacting me.

Thanks for visiting my blog today make sure you head over to Kylie's blog - to vote for my project. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop.

'Til next time!
Stephanie

Retirement "card"

Packing memories into a retirement "card"

One of my team members at the office is retiring soon, so I decided to make her something more special than a normal retirement card. This little suitcase or briefcase (it could be either really) contains a collection of photos taken during her time with the company.

SU case project, 3D,

Also inside the case, there is a decorated card, individualised with a portrait photo, for each team member on which they will write their farewell messages. The very first thing she will see when she opens the case is a stamped card wishing her a happy retirement from all of us.

Each person has their own individualised card
on which to write their farewell
message
The case is really a pizza-type box that I sized to suit the photos I wanted to include. The decorations are based on the image in the Traveller stamp set and some ideas gleaned from a variety of samples that I have seen. There are a few things I would change next time but overall I'm happy.

I have entered this case into the Splitcoaststampers May Scrapbook & More Focus challenge (CCREW0515SF) the topic of which is going away, moving, some kind of "going/motion" and could be construed as retirement.

If you'd like to have some fun and play along, visit the gallery for some great inspiration.  We'd love to see your creations - share them with us by uploading your image to the Creative Crew gallery
Remember to include the code 0515SF in your Key Words.

So many goodies are retiring from the annual catalogue at the moment!
