Butterfly Gala on Window Sheet

It was so much fun stamping butterflies onto Window Sheet (acetate) for these cards that I got a bit carried away!  So I made this card to use up the extras!

A simple but effective and elegant card full of butterflies!

It's such a simple card - a layer of the Lovely Lipstick Foil under a layer of the gorgeous Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (both Free with $90 product purchases during Sale-A-Bration) then add the transparent butterflies and some bling!

Delightfully Detailed Butterfly Gala Trio

Three quick and easy cards with butterflies and Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper!

Three quick and easy cards featuring the Butterfly Gala Bundle and Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper

The first one has a base of Night of Navy and a layer of Soft Sea Foam underneath the Delightfully Detailed paper.  I stamped the butterfly image onto Window Sheet with Stazon ink, and coloured the other side of the butterfly with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers before punching out with the coordinating punch in the bundle (save 10% by buying the stamp set and punch as a bundle).

Finishing touches are the Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins and Faceted Dots.

The next card has a Mint Macaron base with a layer of Petal Pink under the Delightfully Detailed paper.  I stamped and coloured the butterfly as above but this time I also punched the butterfly shape from a piece of vellum and placed it under the coloured butterfly. 

For a bit of bling, I used Glitter Enamel Dots and Faceted Dots.

I love this soft colour combination: Mint Macaron and Petal Pink

The last card is slightly different.  To the Thick Whisper White base card, I added layers of Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape.

I then used Pool Party and Highland Heather inks to sponge a piece of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a produce purchase of $90), and place a piece of Delightfully Detailed paper on top.

I then used the Butterfly Duet Punch from the bundle to punch out a variety of butterflies from other pieces of the Botanical Butterfly paper - I love how Stampin' Up! products coordinate so well!

Butterfly Gala Love

I wasn't sure, at first, whether I liked the butterly images in the Butterfly Gala Bundle.  Now I am sure - I LOVE them!

The photo doesn't show off the gorgeous shimmer of the butterflies.
They're heat embossed onto Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheet and coloured with some Stampin' Blends

For these beauties, I black heat embossed the images onto some of the gorgeous Grapefruit Grove Foil (that I got FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure with a $90 purchase - see how to do that here).

Before punching out the butterflies (TIP: save card by stamping in a horizontal strip), I coloured them in places with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in Dark Lovely Lipstick and Dark Bermuda Bay.

The Butterfly Gala Bundle meets the gorgeous All My Love Designer Series Paper

The greeting is stamped with Lovely Lipstick ink and the label dies are part of the Frosted Bouquet Framelits set.  

The base card is Flirty Flamingo and the white layer is embossed with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder.  The Lovely Lipstick oval layer and All My Love Designer Series Paper are cut with the two largest Layering Ovals Framelits.

TIP:  For extra dimension, fold up the butterfly wings and pop mini dimensionals underneath the wings and glue dot in the centre to adhere to the card.

Butterfly Gala Thanks

Most of us love a pretty butterfly image, especially when it comes with a coordinating punch!  Stampin' Up! have us covered in the new 2019 Occasions Catalogue with the gorgeous (and easy to use) Butterfly Gala Bundle

Who doesn't love a good butterfly image?

The images are very versatile - stamp them in whichever colour ink you like and they'll look pretty, on either white or coloured card.

Quickly add some colour to the wings with two-step stamping (as in the example above).  I'll admit that I often find two-step stamping a bit challenging but with this set I had no problems at all.  OR  colour them with your favourite method: watercolouring with inks, watercolour pencils, Stampin' Write Markers or Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

Step it up a bit more, if you like, by adding more colour in the pretty patterns on the butterflies (I saved time and left them plain).

Step it up again by punching out the butterflies and attaching them to the project with some dimensionals under the wings to lift them up a little - which is what I did in the card above.

I first stamped the images onto the card front to make it a little easier for myself to add the antennae and then attached the punched butterflies.

I wasn't sure whether I liked the addition of the two little butterflies or not - so at the moment they're loosely attached.  I'd welcome your opinion - with or without the little butterflies?
