Country Floral Simplicity

This card uses the last of the experimental pieces I did the other day with the Country Floral embossing folder and Pineapple Punch ink.  This one is embossed onto So Saffron card.

The base card is Crushed Curry followed by a layer of Whisper White.

The Country Floral embossing is too pretty to cover up, so I made a stack of Whisper White and So Saffron ovals and clipped them together with one of the cute little paper clips in the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit (which I acquired FREE in Sale-A-Bration with my $90 purchase).

I hooked a bit of the Organdy Ribbon underneath the paper clip and then also added a little bow.  I was lucky enough to receive the ribbon free as a Sale-A-Bration item but I understand the stocks disappeared very quickly.

The sentiment is from the Label Me Pretty stamp set.

In keeping with our theme of providing Easter inspiration, I've used colours that I associate with Easter (having grown up in the Northern Hemisphere where Easter coincides with Spring) and Layering Ovals to provide an egg shape. 

Country Floral embossing folder inked up with Pineapple Crush ink.

 I have kept it rather generic, so this card could, in fact, be used for almost any occasion.

It started out as experimentation with the Country Floral embossing folder.  The piece on the left is inked with Pineapple Crush on the flat side of the folder and I used Whisper White card.  The middle one was inked on the bumpy side of the folder and the last one used the same technique as the first one but I used So Saffron card.

The finished card uses the debossed piece as a first layer and then I cut ovals from some Pineapple Crush and Whisper White card as well as from the first embossed piece.

The sentiment is from the Florentine Filigree stamp set and I punched the banner with the Duet Banner Punch from Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz card.

Home to Roost with Burlap - A masculine card

It's taken me a while to get to use this gorgeous fellow!  This is the Home To Roost stamp set and it's FREE (until 31st March) with a $90 product purchase!  I think it makes a nice masculine card.

The base card is Night of Navy and there are layers of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  I added a piece of Burlap Ribbon and tied a bow with a little bit that I'd pulled out of the ribbon.

I stamped the rooster onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Night of Navy ink, masked him and then stamped the grasses with Soft Suede ink.

Having removed the mask, I coloured the rooster with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers.  I used Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy.

Hello Cupcake Layers

Who doesn't love a freebie?!!  Until 31 March, this Hello Cupcake stamp set is FREE with a $90 product purchase.

A simple layered card using the Hello Cupcake stamp set (FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $90 purchase)

The base is Gray Granite with a layer of Calypso Coral, decorated with bits of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper that I cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies for the detail of the stitched edging.

The oval frames are cut from Cajun Craze cardstock and the embellishments are the Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon and the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

The cupcake was built with four stamps from the set.  They're photopolymer and easy to position.  The bottom layer was stamped with Cajun Craze ink, the next with Crumb Cake, the icing with Calypso Coral and the little heart with Cherry Cobbler.  I then used an Early Espresso marker to darken the area under the cupcake.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Birthday

Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  You are currently visiting Stephanie Fischer (The Crafty Thinker) from Australia.

Our theme this month is to provide "Birthday" inspiration - which really helped me focus on making this 40th birthday card for my niece!  The inspiration for the floating frame part of the card came from a card I saw that was made by Terri Gaines.

A very bright & cheerful 40th birthday card for a very bright & cheerful person!

My card has different dimensions:  The Basic Black base card is cut to 9" x 5.5" and scored on the long side at 4.5" and 7

Butterfly Gala, Layering Ovals dies and Tufted embossing folder provide the main elements in this easel card

I cut the oval from the centre of the Lovely Lipstick foil sheet and then embossed with the Tufted embossing folder.  I also cut the same oval shape from the centre of the front of the card. 

The window sheet is glued between the black and white frames.  TIP:  I find that I get the best result when gluing window sheet by using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

The butterflies inside the card are stamped individually (it's a double stamp) by applying the ink to one butterfly at a time on the stamp using a Basic Gray Marker Pen.   When adding the Melon Mambo colour with the two step stamping technique, I stamped off first to reduce the ink saturation.  To achieve the slightly darker bottom wings on the large butterfly I repeated the process.

To cut the numbers, I had to resort to using a retired die set.  

The punched out butterflies were left over from a previous card.

Butterfly Gala on Window Sheet

It was so much fun stamping butterflies onto Window Sheet (acetate) for these cards that I got a bit carried away!  So I made this card to use up the extras!

A simple but effective and elegant card full of butterflies!

It's such a simple card - a layer of the Lovely Lipstick Foil under a layer of the gorgeous Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (both Free with $90 product purchases during Sale-A-Bration) then add the transparent butterflies and some bling!
