Good Morning Magnolia Emboss Resist Watercolour Wash

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #goodmorningmagnolia #embossresist #watercoloring , Good Morning Magnolia, easy watercolouring, Emboss Resist, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A soft, feminine birthday card featuring the Good Morning Magnolia image and quick and easy watercolouring
Let's take a little break from Christmas cards to celebrate a friend's birthday!

I clear heat embossed the floral image on Watercolor Paper and then spritzed the whole sheet generously with water before using a damp brush to add a very light, and rough, wash of Blueberry Bushel ink.

With the piece still damp, I added more Blueberry Bushel ink onto the petals and Shaded Spruce ink onto the leaves and stem, creating some shadows with darker shades of ink.

I finished by picking up both Blueberry Bushel and Shaded Spruce ink on a wet brush to add some shading around the image.

The greeting from Beautiful Day is stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink.

I adhered the painted layer to the Shaded Spruce base card and then added a Blueberry Bushel frame which was a by-product of cutting a rectangle for a previous card.

Thank you for visiting.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Favourite Technique: Emboss Resist

Image may contain: text that says "Stampin Dreams BLOG HOP"
Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  You are currently visiting Stephanie Fischer (The Crafty Thinker) from Australia.

Our theme this month is to highlight our Favourite Technique - I don't really have a favourite technique but I've chosen to highlight the Emboss Resist technique today.
#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #embossresist #SDBH #flourishingphrases , Emboss Resist technique, Flourishing Phrases, Stampin Dreams Blog Hop, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Some Emboss Resist using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and coordinating dies
I started out with a piece of Pool Party cardstock that I cut to the size I wanted for my card front.  Having swiped it well with my trusty Embossing Buddy, I stamped the image with Versamark, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and used my Heat Tool.

Using a small piece of sponge and Blueberry Bushel ink, I sponged over and around the embossed image, fading the shade out a little bit towards the edges.

Next, I used a Sponge Brayer to apply some Bermuda Bay ink all over the card front.

Since the heat embossing resists the ink, I used a little piece of tissue to remove the ink from the embossed flourish.

To finish the card, I white heat embossed the greeting from the Wonderful Romance stamp set and punched it out with the Tailored Tag punch then arranged it on top of some Blueberry Bushel ribbon and pieces cut from Pool Party cardstock with various dies in the coordinating Flourish Thinlits.

Thank you for visiting.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  You are currently visiting Stephanie Fischer - please see the list below and click on the next person on the list to hop through all of the people to see all of our projects.  You don't want to miss any!

Dandelion Wishes Meets Botanical Butterflies

How to finish a card quickly!
#thecraftythinker #saleabration2019 #cardmaking #stampinup #botanicalbutterfly #embossresist , Dandelion Wishes, Botanical Butterflies DSP, Emboss Resist, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The butterflies are cut or punched from the gorgeous Botanical Butterfly paper pack
(which is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $90 product purchase)
After demonstrating a technique, I was left with the Dandelion Wishes piece.  It's a piece of Glossy White cardstock, the Dandelion Wishes image is heat embossed in black and then I sponged on a little Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide inks which I spritzed with a bit of water.

Before adhering this panel to the Tranquil Tide base card, I added a piece of Organdy Ribbon.  The Combo Pack of five colours is available FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure with a $90 product purchase.

Trim the paper as required before punching in order to avoid punching bits from surrounding butterflies
Then I opened my pack of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (I got it FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure with a $90 product purchase).  I hand cut the largest butterfly and glued some black thread to it for antennae.  The other two butterflies I punched from the patterned papers using the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.  TIP:  Since it's a double punch, roughly cut the patterned paper to prepare it for punching so that you don't punch bits out of the surrounding butterfly images.

Painting the world better

My lovely friend, Frances, lives interstate and I don't get to see her very often but I think of her frequently and decided to let her know that with a card.

A universe of colour and paint strokes and a canvas of a beautiful lady

Frances is an artist as well as a humanitarian who loves and cares for people  She's an inspirational person who I admire very much and this card is about her so I had to use her favourite colour: purple!  There is also a hint of Fresh Fig (one of the new In-Colours for 2017-2019) in the darker areas.

The greeting is a sneak peek of the new stamp set "Just Add Text" available from 1st June 2017

I really wish there were more people like Frances.  She makes the world more beautiful and tries to heal it with not just with her art but also with her warm, compassionate and inclusive spirit.

Thank you for visiting.
