MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!

I'm taking today off to spend quality time with my family and friends, overeat (I always say I won't but ....), enjoy a few toasts and play some silly games!

I hope you all have the Christmas (or Hannukah or whatever you personally celebrate) that you hope for and that you experience much joy.

Beautiful You with Umbrella - Sneak Peek Occasions 2017 Catalogue

This card is included in the Crazy Crafters Project Highlights this week. If you like it, do visit to look at the other great projects and vote.

The wait between having medical tests and receiving the results is terrible - so much anxiety and tension.  This card is for my gorgeous friend who is in that situation at the moment.  If you spot a typo in this post, it'll be because I'm typing with everything crossed, hoping for happy news.

The elegant images in the Beautiful You stamp set are extremely versatile

The beautiful image and greeting are from the stamp set Beautiful You which will be available from 4th January in the new Occasions Catalogue.  I stamped with Basic Black ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock and then coloured with the new Watercolour Pencils (also in the new Occasions Catalogue  available from 4th January) and an Aqua Painter. 

I'm not normally much of a "pink person" but it does have some significance as well as being a bright, cheery colour.

Starlight Navy & Silver

This is an embarrassingly simple card, but very effective.

An embarrassingly easy Christmas Card using the Star of Light Bundle

To the base card of Night of Navy, add a layer of Smoky Slate.  Cut a the top layer from Night of Navy cardstock, rub it thoroughly with an Embossing Buddy then, using Versamark, randomly stamp the swirly image from the Star of Light stamp set.  Sprinkle with silver embossing powder and heat.  

The top layer can then be adhered to the card.

Cut a piece of Silver Foil Sheet with the large plain star from the Starlight Thinlits set.  Then cut the detailed star from Silver Glimmer Paper and adhere it to the Silver Foil star.  Glue a sequin from the Brights Sequin Assortment to the centre of the star (the Fine Tip Glue Pen is good for this job) and adhere the finished star to the card with dimensionals.

Using Stazon ink, stamp the banner greeting from the Seasonal Bells stamp set onto Silver Foil Sheet and cut it out with the matching Bunch of Banners framelit.  Adhere the banner to the card with some dimensionals.

How easy was that?!

Star of Light on circles - using up leftovers!

The other day I made some spinner cards with the awesome Sliding Star Framelits set.  If you saw that post, you'll know that I always keep the leftover bits for later use!  In this card I've used the "tracks" from two slider cards!

The background is a piece of Soft Sky cardstock that I ran through the Big Shot in the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  I cut the stars from Silver Glimmer paper with the Starlight Thinlits Dies.  At the centre of the larger star is a sequin from the Brights Sequin Assortment.

The greeting is from the Seasonal Bells stamp set, heat embossed in silver onto Night of Navy cardstock and cut out with the matching Bunch of Banners framelit.

Super simple!!

Star of Light spinner

I haven't made a video of the action, but this is a spinner card, so the snow flake spins around in its circular track.

Spinner (or Slider) cards are so easy to make with the Sliding Star Framelits!

It looks complicated and clever but, in fact, it couldn't be easier!  The most complicated thing about it is that this interactive card style is known as both a spinner card and a slider card!  The Sliding Star Framelits set does all the hard work - all that's left is to decorate and get the mechanism going with some Foam Adhesive Strip, a couple of 5c coins and some Stampin' Dimensionals!

There are lots of great tutorials available but I like this one by Tami White. The only tips I would add are:

• To help ensure that the middle circle is completely centred, temporarily keep the frame shape (that we don't use for this card) in position, then remove it once the middle circle is positioned.
• I keep that frame for a future project - you never know when it might come in handy!

Before I started making this card, I wiped my Embossing Buddy over a piece of Night of Navy cardstock (already cut to size) and randomly stamped stars from the Star of Light stamp set with Versamark.  Having sprinkled with silver embossing powder, I heat embossed it.

I used one of the Starlight Thinlits Dies with Silver Foil Sheet to cut the star and then cut one of the smaller stars from Silver Glimmer paper for the centre of the star.  I glued my star to a small square of Night of Navy cardstock.  Simply because it was sitting right next to my Big Shot, I used the smallest of the Layering Squares dies but you could just as easily cut a small square with your Stampin' Trimmer!  I found that little square necessary to hide the coin underneath.

The greeting is from the Seasonal Bells stamp set.  I stamped it onto Silver Foil Sheet with Stazon ink and then cut it out with the matching dies from the Bunch of Banners Framelits set.
