A masculine card featuring some of the great FREE products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue
This masculine card features some FREE products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

The shoes from Epic Celebrations are stamped with black ink onto a piece of Dapper Denim scrap.  I then coloured a little with  Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Markers.  I used some Whisper White ink and a small paintbrush for the laces and a few highlights.

The "Thinking of You" greeting from Heartfelt Blooms is stamped in black ink.

Both of those products are in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.  See my Specials & Promotions page for more information on the great savings and opportunities available for the next week until Sale-A-Bration ends on 31st March.

I cut the work "friend" with one of the Lovely Words Thinlits and adhered it to the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  I cut out the shoes using one of the Layering Circles framelits and the out of the box technique.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Celebrate a True Gentleman

In need of a masculine card, I reached for the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper and played with some layers.

A simple but masculine card [some may say the two go together :) ]
In order to keep it simple, I just added the word Celebrate cut with one of the dies in the Celebrate You die set.  For depth and some interest, I cut a top of layer from Very Vanilla cardstock and stacked it on top of two layers of a thick white packaging card.  Using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets makes easy work of this.

Using several layers of the word "Celebrate" creates some depth and interest

The Celebrate You Thinlits are FREE with a purchase of $180 until the end of March.

With a week of Sale-A-Bration left, take a look at my Specials & Promotions page for all the information about the great savings and opportunities that are available only until the end of March.

Delightful Daisy Pleat with Sequins

This is a companion card to this card as I made the pleats at the same time when my friend, Judy, visited.
#thecraftythinker, #stampinup, #cardmaking, #funfold, fun fold, pleated card, Stampin' Up! Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The fun pleat is super-easy to make!

The base card is Wisteria Wonder to pick up the colour of the daisies in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and the Calypso Coral flowers pick up another of the colours in the paper while the Night of Navy Corduroy ribbon picks up the contrasting colour in the pleats.

I decided this was an ideal opportunity to use one of those gorgeous tassels and echoed the gold with the use of the sequins.

Thank you for visiting.

Sweet Little Something & Baby Bear

I discovered two uncomfortable truths whilst I was making this card.  Firstly, I'm not fond of making baby cards and secondly, I really suck at lining up three step stamps!

I'm so in awe of all those people who seem to do it so effortlessly!

The baby won't know it's not perfect!

In my mind it was all so serene!  I would stamp the rabbit first, mask it and then stamp the bear.  Hah!  After the third attempt, I decided to scrap the masking idea and make the animals individually then glue them into position.  Hah!

The three step stampin process and I really don't get along well, even with the use of my trusty Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to which I eventually resorted!  I still wasn't happy with the sixth attempts but by that time I was mentally and emotionally exhausted - so I'm afraid I decided that close enough was as good as it was going to get!

So, I present slightly imperfect soft toys and a card that wasn't quite as I envisaged it!

Thank you for checking in on my mental health!

Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop : 3D

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop - we hop every month so be sure to pop back and visit us again!  Today our theme is 3D projects - something I find quite challenging!

You are currently at my page - Stephanie Fischer, The Crafty Thinker.  At the end of my post there is a full line up of team members, please click on the name after mine in the list to continue the hop.

3D is not my natural habitat so I sought help and found it in Kirsteen Gill's blog.  She has very generously provided a tutorial for elongating the Window Box which is currently the most underused item in my craft room.

An 8 1/4" tall box that I think is gender neutral
Following her instructions, I used one 12" sheet of Basic Black cardstock and 8" x 1.75" strips of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.

A little flower, tassel and Glitter Enamel Dot decorate the front of the box and assist with lifting the lid
I made a little tag by elongating the smallest of the Lots of Labels dies and scored it in the middle.  Half is adhered to the top of the box and the other half supports a tassel and a little gold flower.

The gold flower on the top is paper-pieced - Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet makes the process quite straight forward
The decoration for the top of the box is cut in Whisper White and I've added a layer of Rich Razzleberry underneath it.  Using a little scrap of leftover Gold Foil Sheet (with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet attached) I paper-pieced the flower in the centre of the top.

Although there are flowers all over this box, I think that the colour scheme keeps the project gender neutral.

I hope you've enjoyed this project and I welcome your comments.

Thank you so much for joining us today.  We hope you'll join us again next month for our Technique-based Projects!  I'm Stephanie Fischer and to keep hopping arouond, see the list below to see who is up next with another great project!

Thanks for visiting.
