A masculine card featuring some of the great FREE products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue
This masculine card features some FREE products from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

The shoes from Epic Celebrations are stamped with black ink onto a piece of Dapper Denim scrap.  I then coloured a little with  Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Markers.  I used some Whisper White ink and a small paintbrush for the laces and a few highlights.

The "Thinking of You" greeting from Heartfelt Blooms is stamped in black ink.

Both of those products are in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.  See my Specials & Promotions page for more information on the great savings and opportunities available for the next week until Sale-A-Bration ends on 31st March.

I cut the work "friend" with one of the Lovely Words Thinlits and adhered it to the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  I cut out the shoes using one of the Layering Circles framelits and the out of the box technique.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

I loved looking through all the amazing cards on Meg's site and was tempted by many of them ... but I was particularly drawn to the post featuring these two cards because it appealed to my sense of thriftiness!

The Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is so gorgeous that the card doesn't need much else!

The Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is so beautiful that the card really doesn't need much more!  I cut some Calypso Coral cardstock with the Lovely Word thinlit and a Layering Oval framelit and attached it to a piece of Powder Pink cardstock also cut with the oval framelit.

I very carefully saved all the little bits of Calypso Coral cardstock to use in the next card.
Avoiding wastage by using the leftovers from the die cut

I layered the Calypso Coral pieces from the previous card onto a slightly larger Basic Grey oval - no wastage!

The glamour of the Painted With Love flower goes perfectly with the Painted With Love paper

I love the paper so much and was really enjoying that great multipurpose layout so I made this card as well!  The gorgeous flower from Beautiful Day is gold heat embossed onto a piece of scrapPowder Pink cardstock and cut out.

I then used Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to colour the flower before adhering it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and Beautiful Day stamp set are from the new Occasions Catalogue and will be available from 3rd January 2018 to 31st May 2018.

I was inspired by the rich and elegant black and gold in this card and changed it up a little to create this card.  However, it should be said that creating cards whilst in the grip of the flu might not be a good idea! ... I kept losing the plot and stuffing up!
#cardmaking, Lovely Words, Embossing Paste, Pattern Party, Black & Gold card, #thecraftythinker, Stampin Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Gold embossed Embossing Paste makes for a very glamourous background

To create the decorative top layer of the card, I started out by cutting a piece of Post It Note with one of the Sweet & Sassy framelits to make a mask.  I then used one of the Pattern Party masks and Embossing Paste to make the dimensional background.

This is where I lost the plot!  I completely forgot that I was intending to sprinkle the wet embossing paste with gold embossing powder (in all of the minute or two it took to spread the paste!) and I removed my mask and allowed the paste to dry.  Oh well, no problem, I thought, I'll just use some Versamark.  But, I forgot to re-mask the heart area before placing the mask back over the pattern and patting with the Versamark pad and sprinkling on the embossing powder!

Oh well, I thought, no problem, I'll just brush off any embossing powder that's where I don't want it.  The theory was good but, no matter how much I brushed, I couldn't remove all traces of that pesky gold.  Eventually, I decided that I could live with the faint traces of gold pattern within the heart shape!

The gold centrepiece is cut with the Lovely Words Thinlits and Sweet & Sassy Framelits from Gold Foil Sheet.  I had remembered (a win!) to put some Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet onto the back of the gold card before I cut it, which made it really easy to stick to my card front.

The inside features the same stencilled pattern using Basic Gray ink fading  out
For the inside of the card, I used the same Pattern Party mask and some Basic Gray ink.  The decorative strip at the bottom is made from three little off-cuts (waste not, want not!).   As you can see, I made this card for my husband for Father's Day  last weekend (the greeting is from the Guy Greetings stamp set).

Here's a close up of the decorative strip made with offcuts rescued from the bin

So the big lesson I've learned here is to not try to be creative whilst feeling under the weather - best to curl up with a hot toddy and a good book!  However, hopefully, you can look past my mistakes and see the card's potential!

I hope you've enjoyed this card and I welcome your comments.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Special Guest: Jeanette Egemann

Image may contain: text
Durch die Blume Stampin UpWelcome to the Crazy Crafters' Blog Hop with our Special Guest stamper, Jeanette Egemann - we are thrilled to have Jeanette join us this month and so excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by her .

Whether you are starting the blog hop here at my blog, Stephanie Fischer - The Crafty Thinker, or have come from the person before me, be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

To the left you'll see Jeanette's card that I have chosen to CASE.  I was attracted to the design (the strip of pattern with the circular greeting) and the two-tone effect of the stamped pink flowers on the lighter pink cardstock.

#crazycraftersbloghop, Floral Phrases, Lovely Words, Masking & Sponging, #thecraftythinker, Stampin Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The coloured decoration is all one layer with the circular greeting adhered on top.
Apart from the colour, I changed things up a bit by stamping the decorative strip as just one layer and adding a die-cut greeting.

I masked off a portion of card and sponged it with Soft Sky ink.  Then I stamped the floral image (I think they look like gum nuts?) with Pacific Point ink.

Having removed the masks, I stamped the decorative strip from Floral Phrases along one side in Pacific Point ink.  Then, using masks to protect the white and blue areas, I sponged on some Sahara Sand ink.  I used a ruler and Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker to add the line on the left side of the blue strip.

A little bit of bling can never be a bad thing!

I cut some Sahara Sand cardstock with a circular Stitched Shapes framelit and layered a circle of Whisper White cardstock on top of it.  I cut some Pacific Point cardstock with one of the Lovely Words thinlits and then trimmed the word to fit on top of the circle and glued it in place.  The last step was to add some Rhinestones.

The base card is Pacific Point with a layer of Sahara Sand and then the decorative layer on the top.

Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack: a quick and easy way to make a beautiful and elegant card
I've been having fun using just the words from these thinlits but today I decided to use it as intended!

I made a lever card with Berry Burst cardstock.  I added a frame of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper in Berry Burst and layered the centre with Whisper White card and the Lovely Words panel.

In the closed position the flower in the corner blends into the Fresh Florals frame!

The flower in the corner is made from Whisper White and Berry Burst cardstock and the centre is a Glitter Enamel Dot.  To make the flower, I used one of the Eastern Medallion thinlits to cut the White base and one of the Flourish thinlits to cut the detailed Berry Burst layer.  I gently used a bone folder to slightly curl the top petals.

Monotone cards are anything but monotonous!

The sentiments inside the card are from Happy Birthday Gorgeous (to the right) and the Eastern Beauty stamp set (to the left).  The lower edges of the Whisper White panels are decorated with a stamp from the Eastern Beauty set.  For all the stamping I used Berry Burst ink.
