What attracted me to this card of Zahra's (see left) were the strips of different coloured card, placed together and embossed.  I also thought the layout would really suit a Christmas card.

So here's my version!

A colourful and playful Christmas Card featuring Shimmer Paint and the Tin Tile embossi

The cardstock strips are Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce.  I attached the 1.5" strips to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then ran the piece through the Big Shot in the new Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder.  I then adhered this to the Thick Very Vanilla card base and added the bauble, ribbon, label and the word "Christmas" cut from Gold Foil Sheet.

The bauble is from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set and I gold heat embossed it onto Vanilla Cardstock.  It has a beautiful shimmery finish (hard to capture in the photograph) because I painted it with Shimmer Paint.  I placed some White Frost Shimmer Paint onto an acrylic block that I use as a palette and added a couple of drops of Shaded Spruce Ink Refill, creating a lighter shade and a darker shade by adding more or less of the ink.  

I also used a little of the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint in a few areas.

I used my snips to hand cut out the bauble before gluing it to the card front.

Both the stamped and die-cut parts of the greeting are from the Merry Christmas To All bundle.  

To soften the empty space, I added some Faceted Dots.

Ink it Stamp it Design Team Blog Hop: CASE the Holiday Catalogue

I've cased one of the cards pictured on page 4 of the Holiday Catalogue featuring the All Is Bright Suite.  

This is my version.

A Christmas Card with non-traditional colours and suitable for a masculine recipient

I've chosen to use the very beautiful Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper and have taken my colours from the paper.

I cut the Floral Frames label from Early espresso cardstock to give a deep, rich colour for the copper foil to glow against.  I had cut the Tranquil Tide foliage for a different card but stole it for this one!

I stamped the greetings onto Gray Granite offcuts with Early Espresso ink, cut them out with the frame dies in the coordinating die set that comes with the Merry Christmas To All Bundle and then added some gorgeous copper shimmer to the edges with paintbrush and the new Copper Shimmer Paint.  I also added some of the White Frost Shimmer Paint to the foliage.

I cut the word "Merry" from the die set in both Gray Granite and Copper Foil Sheet and off-set them when I adhered them to the card.  TIP:  placing Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of the cardstock before die-cutting makes it much easier to adhere fiddly pieces such as this!
