Timelessly Elegant Birthday Blooms

I've been using yellow and grey in combination a lot recently - one of my favourite combo's!

I had a lot of fun with this card!

I used my "monochrome technique" but applied it to cardstock in a contrasting colour.  The Crushed Curry cardstock shows through the ink in places to form part of the flower colour.

The inks are Basic Gray and Whisper White Craft.  Given that the Basic Gray is an archival ink (and the water-resistant properties of archival inks), I wasn't sure that I'd be able to paint with it but it seems to have worked.

I thought the Timeless Elegance DSP tied in very well with the feature flower. In addition to the Crushed Curry, I used Smoky Slate and Basic Grey cardstock.

The greeting is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  I attached It's My Party Enamel Dots to Candy Dot Brad bases for the finishing touch.

Bloomin Heart Bundle - Occasions 2016 Catalogue

I really love this new bundle!  It hit my "must have" list as soon as I saw the Catalogue.

I saw and admired a card that was made by Sheila Terlep and whilst I didn't actively CASE her card, in retrospect I can see that my card seems very much inspired by hers, so I'd like to thank Sheila.  You can see her card at Sheila's Stampin' Corner.

So this is my card.  

I used the Timeless Elegance Designer Series paper and sponged one strip with Blushing Bride ink.

The flowers are cut from Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Blushing Bride cardstock to which I've added a variety of sequins from the Metallics and Brights Sequin Assortments and some pearls.

I inked up the banner with Blushing Bride and then applied Wild Wasabi with a marker before stamping on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then stamped the word Friend into the banner before cutting it with the matching die from the Large Numbers Framelits.

Creative Crew August Challenge - Saying "Goodbye" to Summer - Catalogue

Well, all good things must come to an end and I'm sad to say that this is my last month on the Creative Crew team.  It's been such an honour to be part of this team and also very enjoyable - I'm going to miss it but wish the new team all the best - I know they'll come up with lots of  beautiful inspiration for us all.

Well, it might not be a vacation, but to me roses represent Summer!  And my favourite roses are a combination of yellow and pink. 

Z-fold card featuring Timeless Elegance DSP

You may have noticed that I really love the Timeless Elegance DSP!  It's so versatile and so easy to dress up - just add a little colour.  Here I watercoloured one of the rose images and cut it out with the Deco Labels framelits and edged it with black ink.  I layered this onto Crushed Curry, which I cut with the next size up of framelit.

I stamped with a Petite Petals stamp onto Crushed Curry and Basic Grey with Watermelon Wonder and punched them out with the matching Petite Petals punch.  Then I punched  little flowers from Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder and Basic Grey with the Itty Bitty Accents punch.  The centres of the flowers are a combination of Candy Dots and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The fold is a Z-fold from Naturals Ivory card stock (I missed it's retirement - sorry.  However, Very Vanilla would do the trick) which I layered with Basic Grey and Timeless Elegance DSP.

Timeless Elegance DSP

I used the smaller of the two framelits to cut another label in Very Vanilla.  I stamped the circular image from A Whole Lot of Lovely in the middle, edged it with black ink and added some Crushed Curry Candy Dots.  Then I stuck this to the inside part of the card so that, when the card is closed, it is hidden by the yellow label on the top of the card.

Then I liberally sprinkled my card with the little flowers to end up with a summer garden.

Several Shades of Grey!

There are so many beautiful stamp sets and papers in the new catalogue that I'm like a kid in a candy shop at the moment!

Yesterday I had some time to play and decided to try the Timeless Elegance DSP.  I just love it!  It's so gorgeous it really does all the heavy lifting for you, making it really quick and easy to create a beautiful card!  How good is that?!

In just a short space of time, with the addition of of the Watercolour Wonder and Awesomely Artistic stamp sets I made these three cards.

By just letting the beautiful prints on the DSP do all the talking, I could have made even more!

I used the Out of the Box technique to cut out the stamped panel with the new Lots of Labels Framelits.  I stamped the dragonfly with versamark onto Very Vanilla card, applied heat & stick powder and then dazzling diamonds.  I highlighted around the wings with an aquapainter and basic grey ink.

Awesomely Artistic stamp set

I watercoloured the Awesomely Artistic foliage with Sahara Sand and Basic Grey inks.  The die cuts were edged with Basic Grey ink.  I stamped the frame and the word "Friend" from the Awesomely Artistic set and cut it out with the matching framelit from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelit set.

Happy Birthday is from the Sprinkles of Life set.  Since it's photopolymer I was able to bend it to fit the Bitty Banner Framelet.

I layered the Timeless Elegance DSP onto Basic Black cardstock and then onto the Sahara Sand card base.

Watercolour Wonder Stamp Set

 The sentiment on the striped card is from Birthday Blossoms.  I hand cut the Very Vanilla layer to points and layered it onto Sahara Sand cardstock cut with another of the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  Then I applied two of the smallest of the metal rimmed pearl embellishments.  I stamped the Watercolour Wings butterfly with Sahara Sand, Basic Grey and Black.

The Timeless Elegance DSP is layered onto Basic Black and then onto the Sahara Sand card base.  Both the butterfly and the sentiment are popped up on dimensionals.

Watercolour Wonder Stamp Set

For the last card, the Timeless Elegance DSP is edged with black ink and layered onto the Basic Grey card.

The sentiment is from That Thing You Did and I stamped it in black directly onto the DSP.

The Watercolour Wings butterfly is stamped in black and Basic Grey.  I then picked out parts of it with the 2-way glue pen and applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The wings are popped up on dimensionals.


In the next few weeks I'll post more pictures of what I make with some of the new products.
