Shimmery Trio of Dashing Deer in Winter Woods

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #christmascard #winterwoods #dashingdeer , Dashing Deer, Winter Woods, Shimmery White embossing powder, Trio of Christmas cards, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The Shimmery White embossing looks much prettier in person and I like it with the Gray Granite card
I've decided to throw in some extra inspiration - a Christmas present if you will!

Three looks using the same basic ingredients and method.

Basically the same card, just stepped up a bit by creating the layer on the Thick Whisper White base card
Onto Gray Granite cardstock, the image from Winter Woods was stamped with Versamark, sprinkled with Shimmer White embossing powder and heat embossed.

I then applied versamark to the lower section direct from the pad and Shimmer White heat embossed.

Just for a bit more depth and interest, I stamped some more trees with Versamark and left them as a watermark.

Then I added the deer (they were leftovers from previous projects!).  The Dashing Deer was stamped with Golden Glitz metallic ink (I find using the Stamparatus helps as I can stamp twice to reinforce the shimmery colour) and then cut out with the coordinating Detailed Deer die.

Stepped up just a little more:  One more layer, a different tree image and shadows created with directional use of the Versamark pad
I used the birch image for this one.  To give the impressing of tree shadows, I swiped my Versamark pad diagonally and sparingly and then added extra Versamark to the foreground using horizontal strokes with the pad. Then heat embossed again with Shimmer White embossing powder.

I'll be relaxing on Christmas Day and I'm pretty sure you will be too!  So my next post will be on Friday 27th December.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!  HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Dramatic Dashing Deer

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #christmascard #dashingdeer , Dashing Deer, Golden Glitz, Dramatic christmas card, Stampin Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Who knew? - Tidying up my table and using up leftovers produced a dramatic Christmas card!
I love the dramatic combination of red, black and gold!

It's that time of year now when I start sorting through the mess that has become my crafting table during the flurry of Christmas card production.  So, I found the Golden Glitz Dashing Deer in one corner and the off cut of Gold Foil Sheet in another - a pile of ribbons somewhere in the middle and a spare piece of Real Red in a drawer!

The clean up continues!

Golden Glitz Dashing Deer

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #christmascard #dashingdeer , Dashing Deer, Detailed Deer, Golden Glitz watercolour background, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A Dashing Deer Christmas card with a Golden Glitz watercolour background
In a previous post I shared how I made some Golden Glitz watercolour backgrounds.  This card uses another piece of the background.

I stamped the deer onto Blackberry Bliss card with Golden Glitz metallic ink (using my Stamparatus so that I could overstamp for better coverage) and cut it out with the coordinating Detailed Deer die.

I gold heat embossed the greeting and cut it out with one of the Merry Christmas dies, deciding to sponge the edges with gold ink to soften the look.

As always, I cut out the centre of the Gold Foil layer for use in another project.

Brightly Gleaming Dashing Deer

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #christmascard #cardmaking #dashingdeer , Dashing Deer, Detailed Deer, Brightly Gleaming, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A simple Christmas card featuring Dashing Deer stamp set,
coordinating Detailed Deer die and Brightly Gleaming paper
This is one of my favourite simple Christmas cards and is really quick and easy to replicate for mass-production.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the Dashing Deer onto Pretty Peacock cardstock with Celestial Copper metallic ink.  This allowed me to overstamp to ensure a good coverage of ink.  Once the ink was dry, I then cut out the deer with the coordinating Detailed Deer die.

A quick, mass-production, alternative would be to cut out as many of the deer as required and then use this method with the Stamparatus to stamp the die cuts.

To obtain the stitched frame, I cut a rectangle of Copper Foil sheet a little larger than a Stitched Rectangle die, then centred the die and cut.  This left the frame for use on this card and a rectangle for use on another project.

I also removed the centre of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper for use in another project.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to fit inside the stitched detail and then adhered the deer.

Feels Like a Frosty Deer - A Christmas Card

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #christmascard #dashingdeer , Christmas card, Dashing Deer, Detailed Deer, Feels Like Frost, Silvery Shimmer ink, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A quick and easy Christmas card using the Dashing Deer stamp set and coordinating Detailed Deer dies
as well as the Feels Like Frost paper and Silvery Shimmer metallic ink
This card is so elegant, so pretty and soooo easy!

To the Basic Black base card I added a layer of Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I then added a torn piece of Whisper White card to the bottom and stamped the greeting from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.
#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #christmascard #dashingdeer , Christmas card, Dashing Deer, Detailed Deer, Feels Like Frost, Silvery Shimmer ink, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
On this version of the Christmas card, I used the greeting included in the Dashing Deer stamp set
Using Basic Black cardstock, Silvery Shimmer metallic ink and my Stamparatus, I stamped the image from the Dashing Deer stamp set several times until I was happy with the depth of colour.  Then I cut out the deer with the coordinating Detailed Deer die and adhered it to the card front.

TIP:  Since they are pigment inks, the Delicata metallic inks take quite a bit of time to dry.  To avoid smudging, either leave plenty of drying time or speed up the process a bit with a heat tool.
