Christmas Gleaming - Bold Black and Red with Gold

Dramatic Christmas card with black Golden Glitz background and Christmas Gleaming Bundle

Who remembers those watercolour backgrounds that I made with Golden Glitz metallic ink?  Did you think I'd forgotten to use the black one?!!

To a layer of Poppy Parade I added  a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I'd embossed with the Stylish Scroll embossing folder followed by the black layer.  I then added a piece of Black Satin Ribbon and adhered it all to the front of the Basic Black card base.

I gold heat embossed the baubles onto Poppy Parade card and punched them out with the coordinating punches.  I sponged the edges with Real Red ink before gluing them to the card.  I painted on lines with Golden Glitz ink so that they appeared to be hanging.

The holly was gold heat embossed and then coloured with Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  I fussy cut the holly and then glued it to the card front.

Golden Glitz Dashing Deer

A Dashing Deer Christmas card with a Golden Glitz watercolour background

In a previous post I shared how I made some Golden Glitz watercolour backgrounds.  This card uses another piece of the background.

I stamped the deer onto Blackberry Bliss card with Golden Glitz metallic ink (using my Stamparatus so that I could overstamp for better coverage) and cut it out with the coordinating Detailed Deer die.

I gold heat embossed the greeting and cut it out with one of the Merry Christmas dies, deciding to sponge the edges with gold ink to soften the look.

As always, I cut out the centre of the Gold Foil layer for use in another project.

Beautiful Day For A Golden Butterfly

This birthday card features the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set, Golden Glitz metallic ink
and a gold-infused watercolour background

This card uses another of the Golden Glitz infused watercolour backgrounds that I made a little while ago.  This one has a base of Gray Granite cardstock.

I've also used the same methodology as I did for this card but using the butterfly image instead of the flower.  The little gold butterflies in the background are stamped with the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

To my Blackberry Bliss base card, I added a layer of So Saffron cardstock followed by the decorative panel.

Beautiful Day For A Golden Rose

This card is gloriously rich in gold!

This card makes me so happy that it was hard to give it away!  It uses another of the watercolour backgrounds with Golden Glitz that I made recently.  This one used Blushing Bride cardstock.

Once the background was very dry, I gave it a wipe with my Embossing Buddy and then gold heat embossed the flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set.

I painted the flower with Real Red, Garden Green and Blackberry Bliss inks and then added highlights with Golden Glitz metallic ink.  I squeezed some of the gold ink onto a block so that I could paint it onto the edges of the petals quite thickly and then softly blend it back towards the inner part of the petal.

I added a shadow under the flower with Garden Green ink.

Then I decided that the background was just a little too plain, so I stamped on some foliage from the Botanical Bliss stamp set with Golden Glitz metallic ink.

The greeting is also from the Botanical Bliss stamp set and I gold heat embossed it onto Blackberry Bliss card before cutting it out with one of the dies in the Beautiful Boughs die set.  I sponged some more of the Golden Glitz metallic ink around the edge before attaching it to the card front.

Gold Swirl Christmas Card with Foliage: Watercolour background with metallic ink

Simple die cuts to complement the gorgeous rich watercolour background in this non-traditional Christmas card

So this is how I used the other half of the watercolour background I made the other day.

As before, I didn't want to cover up that gorgeous rich background with shimmery Golden Glitz ink, so I kept the decorations minimalist.

I shortened the Gold Foil Stitched Rectangle using this method.

I made lots of different backgrounds with the same ink "puddle"
