Magnolia Lane Memories & More - simple greeting card

Last week I shared a card that I made with the gorgeous new Good Morning Magnolia Bundle and today's card also uses products from the Magnolia Lane Suite - the Magnolia Lane Memories & More cards.

Although designed to fit into the Memories & More memory-keeping albums, these cards are brilliant for making quick and easy but gorgeous greeting cards.

In addition to the pack of cards, I used a little bit of Petal Pink cardstock, Early Espresso ink, a base card of Crumb Cake, some Basic Self-Adhesive Sequins and the new Stitched Nested labels dies.  The greeting is from the coordinating Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.

Products from the new Annual Catalogue will be available from 4th June 2019 to 2nd June 2020.

Broadway Bound card for a Teenager

I find cards for teenage boys to be the hardest to make!  So I made a very simple card using layers of the retiring Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Card for a teenage boy made with the retiring Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper
I stamped the greeting onto Gray Granite card and cut it out with one of the Frosted Bouquet dies, using the other die to cut the black layer.  I then fussy cut a couple of candles from a leftover piece of the paper.

The Broadway Bound paper will be available only until 2nd June or while stocks last.

Eclectic Layers Foliage

The other day I made a card using black foliage cut with the retiring Eclectic Layers dies and kept the strip of card from which I'd cut the shapes (of course!).  So today, I'm using that.
#thecraftythinker #eclecticlayers #stampinup #cardmaking , Eclectic Layers, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Eclectic Layers - using up the negative spaces from die-cutting
Onto a Coastal Cabana card base I layered a piece of the retiring Tea Room Designer Series Paper followed by my strip of leftover black card.

The greeting is from the retiring hostess stamp, Very Vintage, cut out with one of the Stitched Shapes dies.

I added a couple of pieces of black foliage cut with the Eclectic Layers .... so now I have another strip of "negative shapes" to use!

The retiring products (Eclectic Layers, Very Vintage stamp set and Tea Room paper) will be available only until 2nd June or while stocks last.

It's easy to make a stunning and dramatic card with the Good Morning Magnolia bundle
I have chosen to use the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle and coordinating Magnolia Lane Ribbon.

The bundle represents a saving of 10% and comprises the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating Magnolia Memory dies.  These form part of the stunning Magnolia Lane Suite which also includes the ribbons, Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder, Memories & More card packs and embellishments.  The possibilities are endless!

I stamped the magnolia image with Stazon and then watercoloured it with Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green, So Saffron and Soft Suede inks before cutting it out with the coordinating die.

I trimmed the bottom of a Mint Macaron layer with one of the Magnolia Memory dies and then stamped the flourish with Garden Green ink.

Having added the ribbons, I attached the magnolia - using a Stampin' Dimensional towards the top to add some depth.  I then added the Blackberry Bliss layer and attached it all to the Mint Macaron card front.

The greeting is stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink and cut out with one of the Stitched Shapes dies.

Lastly, I added some of the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Eclectic Layers: Lemon Lime Twist and Black

The Eclectic Layers dies and coordinating Oh So Eclectic stamp set are retiring on 2nd June, which makes me very sad because they're two of my favourite products!  So this card is a fond farewell to them.
#thecraftythinker #eclecticlayers #stampinup #cardmaking , Eclectic Layers, Label Me Pretty, Stampin' Up
A sad farewell to the Eclectic Layers dies
To a Thick Very Vanilla card base I added a thin frame of Sahara Sand.

I then added various elements cut with the  Eclectic Layers dies from Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black cardstock.

The retiring products (including the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock) will be available only until 2nd June or while stocks last.  Click here to visit the Last Chance section of my online store.

The label is stamped with black ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock using the Label Me Pretty and Very Vintage stamp sets and I cut this out by hand.  I then used the Pretty Label punch to create the Lemon Lime Twist layer and punched two more from Basic Black which I cut in half and adhered to create a small border at the top.

Lastly I added some sequins.

Florentine Thank You

This card is very personal to me.  It's a very heartfelt thank you to the very talented and compassionate radiographer who tried and succeeded where others had given up.  I'm so very grateful for the early diagnosis she has provided - it's a game-changer.
#thecraftythinker #stampinup #florentinefiligree #cardmaking , Florentine Filigree, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Saying thank you with the Florentine Filigree Bundle
I cut two sets with the Florentine Thinlit, one in Balmy Blue and one in Blueberry Bushel , offset them and adhered them to the Gray Granite base card.

I then used the largest Stitched Rectangle die to cut the Blueberry Bushel frame.

I used the coordinating Florentine Filigree stamp set and Blueberry Bushel ink to stamp into the centre of the larger cutouts.  TIP:  Since I was stamping over two layers of cardstock, I inked and stamped with only one image on the stamp (the stamp actually stamps five images at once) to avoid smudging ink onto the lattice.

I then added Rhinestones which I had coloured with a Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend alcohol marker.

I stamped the greeting onto Gray Granite with Blueberry Bushel ink and cut it out with one of the Layering Ovals dies.  I then used one of the Stitched Shapes dies to cut a layer from Blueberry Bushel cardstock.

For the finishing touch I added a Breast Cancer ribbon cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock with one of the Support Ribbon framelits.

The Florentine Thinlit and Florentine Filigree stamp set is retiring and will only be available until 2nd June or while stocks last.

Thank you for visiting.

Garden Scene with Shimmer Paint

This was a bit of an experiment because I wanted to find something different to do with my retiring Garden Scene dies.

So I used the die in one corner of a piece of Basic Black cardstock and then lightly sponged with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

I found an oval label on my desk, left over from something-or-other, and white heat embossed the sentiment from the Stitched All Around stamp set.

Sponging with Shimmer Paint onto Basic Black cardstock with a debossed pattern.
The black leaf is cut with one of the Flourish dies.  Then this simple card is finished with some Black Shimmer Ribbon, Basic Adhesive Sequins and Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems.

#thecraftythinker #gardenscene #shimmerpaint #cardmaking #stampinup , Garden Scene, Shimmer paint, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
In this first attempt at sponging on the shimmer paint - I was a bit too heavy handed and filled in all the indentations

#thecraftythinker #gardenscene #shimmerpaint #cardmaking #stampinup , Garden Scene, Shimmer paint, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
By being a bit more light handed and sparing with the shimmer paint, the black lines of the embossed pattern show nicely
Click here to take a look at the retiring products before they disappear for good on 2nd June.

Thank you for visiting.
