This little monster is eager to party!

To add some dimension to the card, the monster has a shiny (or slimey!) covering from the Fine Tip Glue Pen and the balloons are at various depths.

The balloons are of different depths to add dimension

I first stamped the monster and the balloons with Basic Black Ink.  I coloured the middle balloon with Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers.

I then punched a whole lot of balloons with the Balloon Bouquet punch using Pink Pirouette card so that the edges would blend in with the card front.

Working on the two lower set balloons first, I put some Multi-Purpose glue on the stamped balloon image and placed a punched balloon on top.  Then I adhered another punched balloon on top of that.  I then used the stripey balloon die from the Balloon Pop Up Thinlits and cut one with Sweet Sugarplum and one with Rich Razzleberry card.  I placed glue all over the top layer of punched balloon and added the decorative balloon pieces.  Once the glue had had a chance to dry sufficiently, I carefully cut away the part of the balloon that overlapped the neighbouring balloon.

I then repeated the process with the topmost balloons but added more layers of punched balloon.

I hand drew the strings.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Carousel Birthday Twist & Pop

I love the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper and have been guilty of storing it rather than using it: #loveitchopit !!   I also had a spare Twist & Pop card left over from demonstrating at our last card-making gathering.

The ferris wheel image is echoed in the background paper

The image and greeting are stamped with Basic Black ink onto Very Vanilla card.  I added some sponging with Soft Sky ink as well as some edging with Basic Black ink.  I partially cut the ferris wheel with a Layering Circle die (using the Out of the Box technique to preserve the cupcakes) and adhered it to a larger Soft Sky circle that I'd edged with black ink.

I stamped, coloured and cut more cupcakes and popped them into position with little pieces of Foam Adhesive.

There are many great tutorials available for this clever fun fold

I decorated the inside of the card with more of the Cupcakes & Carousels paper as well as some Bermuda Bay layers on the four central panels.

I stamped the horse four times with Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla card, coloured them with Watercolour Pencils and an Aqua Painter and then cut them out.  I did give the poles, the manes and tails a base coat with a Soft Sky Stampin' Write Marker before adding a little shading with the Bermuda Bay Watercolor Pencil.

I stuck them to the panels at different heights to (hopefully) give the impression of the horses going up and down on a carousel.

The horses are grey with pale blue manes & tails.  The colours for their livery are taken from the paper

I stamped the tents with Basic Black ink onto the patterned paper and then again onto Soft Sky card.  I cut around the Soft Sky tents and glued them into position.

The area of writing a greeting is a piece of Very Vanilla card, cut with one of the Lots of Labels dies and edged with Basic Black ink.

Vintage Leaves meet Rose Wonder

This card emerged from my continued experimentation with Emboss Resist and inky layers , however, it wasn't an easy birth!  Some cards come into existence easily, gracefully and in an ordered manner - which can't be said of this one!  This card emerged, kicking and screaming, in the breach position!

Vintage Leaves, Rose Wonder and Awesomely Artistic

Not happy with the way things were going, I kept changing plans and trying different things, so it's hard now to remember exactly what I did and in which order!

I can tell you that I started with Shimmery White cardstock.  I inked the top leaf with Versamark and Cajun Craze inks, stamped it and clear heat embossed it.  After sponging on colour, I used the Embossing Buddy and then sponged Versamark all over the leaf.  After adding the embossing powder, I cleaned away any excess from the edges of the leaf with a clean, dry paint brush then used the heat tool.

The next step was to sponge the entire card with yellow ink - it looks to me like I may have started with a lighter yellow (maybe So Saffron or Daffodil Delight?).  I would have let the ink dry and then given it a very thorough wiping with the Embossing Buddy.

Using Versamark, Emerald Envy ink and a different leaf stamp, I then repeated the process I used for the for the first leaf - stamping, clear heat embossing, adding colour, wiping with the embossing buddy, adding versamark all over the leaf, adding embossing powder, removing excess with a paint brush, heating.   I would have done that for each leaf.

I sponged and stamped with a variety of inks and cut around the leaves before adhering the panel to a Cajun Craze card that I made to fit the panel.

I made a label with Crushed Curry card, Cajun Craze and Basic Black inks, the Rose Wonder stamp set and matching framelit and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
