Pick A Fairy Pattern - Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

As soon as I saw this new paper from the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper (DSP) my thoughts turned to fairies!  So here is my fairy sitting amongst the mushrooms (or are they toadstools?)

This lovely fairy is from the continuing stamp set "Fairy Celebration"

Having stamped her with Basic Black ink onto Whisper White paper (yes, just normal Whisper White) I watercoloured with the following inks:
Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and the new In-Colour Powder Pink.  Although it doesn't show in my photo, unfortunately, there is a layer of Wink of Stella on the fairy's wings so that they shimmer.
I left the background white to match with the DSP in the background.

The fairy panel is layered onto a piece of Calypso Coral and then adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped the greeting (from Fairy Celebration) and banner (from Number of Years) with Basic Black ink and cut it out with the matching die from the Large Numbers Framelits.  I used Sahara Sand ink to watercolour the banner ends to give shading to the folds.  Then I attached it to the card front with a double layer of Stampin' Dimensionals.

I think this greeting from the new Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set will be my new "go to" birthday greeting!

The little fairy inside the card was stamped and watercoloured in the same way as before.  I added Wink of Stella to her wings and also to the areas around the "magic".  Unfortunately, the lovely shimmer isn't showing in my photo.

The greeting is from the new stamp set Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

Thank you for your visit.
'Til next time!

Fairy Celebration Magic Card

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlights this week.  Click here to see all the other great projects and vote for your favourites.

Fairies and magic seem to go hand in hand, don't you think?

The mechanism that I used for this magic card is the same as I used for The Magic Stag.

The Petals & Paisleys paper provides a leafy sort of background without being too busy
As before, the base card is 6" square and finished Magic card section is 4" square.  Both card base and the frame for the magic section are made from Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Pull up the tag and the magic delights adults and children alike!

The banner is from the Basket for You hostess stamp set and I gave it an edge of Mint Macaron.

The fully coloured fairy has emerged!
The tag is also made from Mint Macaron cardstock and I used the middle section of the two part banner in the Bunch of Banners die set.

A piece of washi tape hold the keeps the layers lined up while I stamp the image onto the acetate
I coloured the image mostly using the Many Marvelous Markers.  I watercoloured her skin and used a damp brush and piece of paper towel to lift some of the ink on the fruit to create highlights.

Impossible to see in the photo but I painted Clear Wink of Stella over the fairy dust to make it sparkle

I couldn't resist putting another little fairy with some magic fairy dust inside the card.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Cherry Tree Fairy

I made this birthday card for one of my nieces.  It uses another of the images from the Fairy Celebration stamp set.

The card is made from an A5 piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock, layered with Soft Suede cardstock and a variety of paper from the In-Colour DSP stack.  I used a lot of dimensionals!

The greeting is from the Build a Birthday stamp set and is stamped in Basic Black onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  I made the banner ends with the Triple Banner Punch.

In-colour Enamel Shapes add the final touch

I stamped the image in Basic Black onto Shimmery White Cardstock and watercoloured it using Peekaboo Peach, Flirty flamingo, Rose Red, blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Delightful Dijon, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green inks.

It's a shame it doesn't show up in the photograph but there is a coat of Clear Wink of Stella on the wings so that they shimmer.
