This is Jennifer's card that I have chosen to CASE. I like the colour combination of Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach and also the simplicity of the design. To see more details about Jennifer's card, click on the image to link to her blog.

For my card, I kept the colour combination and the basic layout design.

This is my CASE of Jennifer's card.

Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach make good companions for each other!

I exchanged butterflies for hearts, changed to the Seaside embossing folder and used Ruched Ribbon rather than a die cut.

The top butterfly is adhered flat to the card front, the middle butterfly is popped up on a layer of dimensionals and the lower butterfly has a double layer of dimensionals.

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamped in Peekaboo Peach on Whisper White cardstock that has been cut with one of the dies from Bunch of Banners.

Paisley Metallics - Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek

Stampin' Up! have really surpassed themselves with the new Holiday Catalogue - it's chock full of wonderful products! But, as you can see, the catalogue name may be a bit misleading because, whilst there are many beautiful Christmas and Halloween goodies, there are some fantastically versatile sets for everyday use too.

The Paisley Petals suite is one of my favourites for its beauty and versatility: masculine, feminine, any occasion.

The copper foil die cuts compliment the copper print in the patterned paper

For the card front I have used some of the Designer Series Paper and some of the matching dies and inside the card I used some of the matching stamps. I used copper heat embossing to go with the copper leaf in the DSP and added some colouring with a Night of Navy marker. I added some of the new silver ribbon to tie the images together and bring in the silver element from the front of the card.

This set is so versatile - I look forward to the fun of making my own paisley patterns

GDP048 - Thoughtful Branches Christmas Card

I haven't entered a challenge for a while, so this week I decided to have a go at the Global Design project challenge GDP048 - case the designer (in this instance Tanja Kolar). I CASE'd the basic layout

I decided to use the Thoughtful Branches stamp set, since it was to hand. This set has matching dies and is available only during the month of August, so if you like it - make sure you don't miss out!

I normally make a start on my Christmas Cards in July but I'm running late this year - this is my first Christmas Card for the year!

The greeting is from the Merry Mice stamp set (142145) in the new Holiday Catalogue, available from 1st September.

The Silver Glitter Ribbon is also from the new Holiday Catalogue (142015). I really like the fact that it's soft as well as shiny! It comes in a combo pack with a roll of Sweet Sugarplum Glitter Ribbon.

I punched holes for the ribbon with the small die in the Tags & Labels die set.

Dazzling Diamonds glitter is sooo pretty! ... and so easy to apply with the help of the Fine-Tip Glue Pen

Jar of Ladybirds - shaker card

I made this card for one of my little great nephews. I rarely see him since he lives interstate and so I don't really know what he likes but I figured who doesn't love ladybirds and little boys like to collect things in jars - well they did in my generation! I suppose now they prefer to catch things on a smart phone!

Do little boys still like to collect things in jars?

To make the shaker part of the card, I basically followed Sarah-Jane's tutorial (click here to link to her video) for making a shaker without using foam, however, I omitted the DSP layer. I simply piled the ladybirds onto the card front and stuck the jar over the top.

I like to think that all the ladybirds have now escaped and these are the last two happily going home!
