Flirty Flowers on Glossy Watercolour

I managed to tear myself away from the Embossing Paste long enough to  play with some ink and glossy paper again.  There was some Pacific Point and Melon Mambo ink on my craft mat after a (failed) attempt at a technique that's new to me.  So, I spritzed the craft mat with water and grabbed some pieces of Glossy Paper to smoosh in the puddles.  Waste not, want not!  I'm still thinking about what to do with my failure (other than introducing it to the bin!)

A black silhouette is very effective against a watercolour background

This was the smallest piece and when it was dry I stamped the image with Basic Black ink.

I stamped the greeting with Pacific Point ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes dies, layering it onto a scalloped circle of Pacific Point that was cut with one of the Layering Circles.

Lastly, I added a bow and tails of Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon.

Thank you for your visit.
'Til next time!
Stephanie

  1. WOW Stephanie I so like the idea of the glossy paper, but am as yet not confident enough to just do it myself.
I adore the colours smooshed onto the gloss here especially with the black flower sillouette. And those framing layers are perfectly GORGEOUS!!

    1. Thank you Kim! Just do it, would be my advice. The glossy cardstock really enhances the colours and makes them glow. As far as I can tell, it doesn't take any particular skill or expertise - after all ... I'm doing it!

    1. Thank you, Debbie. Be prepared for the intensity of the colour! I suppose because it sits on the surface rather than being absorbed.

  4. Wow Stephanie I adore your card, the colours you chose are gorgeous and I love how more vibrant they look using the glossy paper.
Then just using black to silhouette the image makes everything pop.
I love the sentiment too. I will have to get this so I can use use it for a a loss in the family. With Smypathy sometimes is so bland unfeeling when you are close to that person.
