Awesomely Artistic Friend

Continuing the theme of watercolour washes - I finally managed to achieve a lighter effect!

Watercolour wash background with Awesomely Artistic and a die cut

The colours I used for the background were Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  Once it was dry, I stamped the images from Awesomely Artistic in Basic Black ink.  I, very roughly, added a bit more colour to the foliage with Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide inks.

The base card is Basic Black followed by a layer of Lemon Lime Twist, another of Basic Black followed by the Watercolour Paper.  As a last step, I added the die cut word "friend" in Berry Burst.  To obtain this die cut, I used one of the new Lovely Words thinlits and simply snipped the word from the middle.

One Wild Ride Baby Card

My niece and her husband have just added a baby daughter to their family and I wanted to make a baby card that would resonate with them.

I really love the new Berry Burst colour!

When my niece's husband first joined the family he rode a motorbike that he loved but he gave it up in order to buy a car suitable for their growing family.

So, while a little unorthodox, this card is an acknowledgement of his sacrifice.  I also like the sentiment very much.

The patterned paper is in the new In-Colour, Berry Burst, from the new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  The card is an A5 piece of Berry Burst cardstock folded in half.

I used a Basic Black and Berry Burst Stampin' Write Marker to ink the sentiment stamp and then fussy cut it.

Eastern Beauty Floral

I just can't stop using the Eastern Beauty Bundle - it's so amazingly versatile and fun to use!  On this card, I've paired it with some paper-pieced leaves created with the Rose Garden thinlits.

When I first saw the new In-Colour, Lemon Lime Twist, my reaction wasn't very favourable.  I thought it was too bright, acidic and well - green.  I thought to myself "there's a colour I'll never use!".  So now I'm officially eating my words!  I still dislike the colour on its own but I concede that it adds the perfect pop of "zing" to many colour combinations.  I can see that, in fact, I'll be using it quite a lot!

More new favourites of mine are the Glitter Enamel Dots!

The greeting is a combination of the the banner from Banners For You and the "Best Wishes" from .  The advantage of photopolymer being that I could bend the words to fit the banner. 

My new go-to birthday greeting is from the new stamp set "Happy Birthday Gorgeous"

Inside the card I stamped a couple of leaves from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set using the new In-colour Tranquil Tide and coloured them with Lemon Lime Twist.  I then added another little flower made with the Eastern Beauty bundle.

Double Slider Birthday Card: In- Colour Sneak Peek

My thanks go to my lovely friend and fellow Crazy Crafter, Satomi Wellard, who so generously taught me how to make this double slider card fold.

The products in this card are a mix of the current, retiring and the new. 

Surprise!

The new is the gorgeous Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  For this card, I chose the new In-Colour Berry Burst but the pack includes papers in all of the new In-Colours  - each in four designs.

I matched the gorgeous floral paper with Berry Burst cardstock and ink for a monotone card.
The "Make A Wish" greeting is from the new stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  The greeting "Surprise" is from the new Birthday Delivery stamp set.

The double slider card when fully extended

The current products are the Circle and Square Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Circles Framelits.  I used the method shown in this post to cut oblongs with the square framelits.  I used the new Berry Burst ink and the current Floral Phrases stamp to create a matching interior for the card.

The inside of the card matches the outside - of course!

The retiring product is the floral tag topper from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies and the large greeting from Balloon Adventures.

I liked it so much that I made four more so that I ended up with one in each of the new In-Colours for 2017-2019!
