Half Full of Chardonnay

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters' Team Highlights.  Click here to see all the entries and vote for your favourites.

I know she see's my blog posts so, depending on how "senior" her memory proves to be, this may or may not be for my Chardonnay-loving friend!

A card suitable for many occasions!

It's a very simple card so there's not much more to say!

Ready for Christmas Birthday Card - Sneak Peek 2017 Holiday Catalogue

Despite its name, I was pretty sure that this wonderful stamp set (and coordinating dies) would be very versatile and useful for so much more than Christmas cards!

This card is for a friend who has two dachshunds and, I confess, that was my main prompt for purchasing the set!

What did I use?
2017 Holiday Catalogue (sneak Peek)

The Ready for Christmas stamp set from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue (dogs, table, cookies and gifts)
The wine glass is from the Half Full stamp set
Annual Catalogue
The balloons are made with the Birthday Delivery bundle
The banner and words are stamped with the Banners For You set
The banner is cut with the Bunch of Banners coordinating die
I used a Layering Circle die to cut out the main scene
The decorative paper is from the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack
The basic 5 3/4" square card is made with Night of Navy cardstock

How did I do it?
  • On a piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the table with Crumb Cake ink and the complete dog with Basic Black ink.
  • I then used the reflection technique to produce the second dog (used Basic Black ink to stamp the dog onto my Stamp-a-ma-Jig sheet, turned it ink side down onto the cardstock and pressed the ink onto the card).
  • I watercoloured this little scene using Peekaboo Peach, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Pool Party and Night of Navy inks and the teeniest bit of Cherry Cobbler for one of the dog collars.
  • I used the out of the box technique to cut out the scene with the circle die, leaving the lower part of the dog's body  outside the circle.
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White card I stamped the wine glass with Smoky Slate ink and the plate of biscuits with Basic Black ink, watercoloured them, fussy cut and glued them to the table top.
  • The presents were also stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White with Basic Black ink and coloured before fussy cutting them and gluing them to the card front.
  • For the balloons, I used some Night of Navy ink to apply a light watercolour wash to a scrap piece of Whisper White card.  When it was dry, I stamped the balloons with Night of Navy ink and then cut them with the coordinating die before adhering them to the card front and hand drawing the strings and bows with a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.

Naturally the inside of the card had to be decorated to match!  The presents are stamped and coloured directly onto the card but the balloon was made separately and glued in.

Half Full on Wood Textures - Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Team Highlights this week.  Click here to see all the wonderful entries and vote for your favourites.

One of the really great things about the new Holiday Catalogue (runs from 1 September to 2 January) is that there's something for everyone and it's not all Christmas and Halloween!

A masculine card for a red wine lover

These images are from the new Half Full stamp set which has 10 rubber stamps and is versatile enough to be suitable for Christmas cards, Birthday cards and Friendship cards - pretty much most occasions, really!

The new mini dimensionals are perfect to support the neck of this bottle!

I stamped the bottle and the sentiment onto Whisper White card with Fresh Fig ink and the glass with Smoky Slate ink.

I used the Out of the Box technique and one of the Layering Circles dies to cut out the bottle and glass then watercoloured the little still life with Cherry Cobbler, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Tranquil Tide, Smoky Slate and Sahara Sand inks.

The top of the sentiment is cut with the Tag Topper Scallop Punch and sponged with Sahara Sand ink.  For the Rich Razzleberry layer under it, I cut a strip of card to 2" and cut the top with one of the Lots of Layers dies.

The base card is Sahara Sand with a layer of Rich Razzleberry topped with the layer of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

The still life is propped up on Stampin' Dimensionals (the new mini ones fit beautifully under the neck of the bottle) and the sentiment is partially popped up.
