A Trio of Black & White Botanical Butterfly cards

I originally made these cards for a Crazy Crafters' Blog Hop that, for one reason or another, has been postponed.  So I've CASEd (Copy and Selectively Edit) this card by Connie Collins.  I like this design because it's a beautiful showcase for some lovely Designer Series Paper - of which I have a lot at the moment!

A trio of classic black & white cards featuring the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper
(FREE with a $90 product purchase until 31 March or while stocks last)
I've used up some of the gorgeous Botanical Butterfly paper (that I acquired FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a product purchase of $90!) and decided to go with classic black and white ...  and it was so quick and easy that I made a trio!

Like Connie, I used one of the Stitched Shapes dies to cut the squares of the paper but you you could use one of the Stitched Rectangle dies and trim it down or simply cut the squares with a trimmer.

The Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper is double side with one side of each sheet being black & white
The base cards of Thick Whisper White cardstock are 5.75" square.  The centre black strip measures 14cm x 2cm - yes, I'm sorry about the measurement switch.  I tend to be a bit ambidexturous with imperial and metric!  The patterned strip measures 13.5cm x 1.5cm.

The little bit of vellum softens the look a little
The greeting is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and I used one of the leftover bits of Thick Whisper White card.  It's cut out with another of the Stitches Shapes dies to match the squares but you could easily use a Layering Circle die or a circle punch.  The black and vellum layers were cut with Layering Circle dies.

Switch the greeting and this card style would be suitable for many different occasions

Dandelion Wishes Meets Botanical Butterflies

How to finish a card quickly!
#thecraftythinker #saleabration2019 #cardmaking #stampinup #botanicalbutterfly #embossresist , Dandelion Wishes, Botanical Butterflies DSP, Emboss Resist, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The butterflies are cut or punched from the gorgeous Botanical Butterfly paper pack
(which is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $90 product purchase)
After demonstrating a technique, I was left with the Dandelion Wishes piece.  It's a piece of Glossy White cardstock, the Dandelion Wishes image is heat embossed in black and then I sponged on a little Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide inks which I spritzed with a bit of water.

Before adhering this panel to the Tranquil Tide base card, I added a piece of Organdy Ribbon.  The Combo Pack of five colours is available FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure with a $90 product purchase.

Trim the paper as required before punching in order to avoid punching bits from surrounding butterflies
Then I opened my pack of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (I got it FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure with a $90 product purchase).  I hand cut the largest butterfly and glued some black thread to it for antennae.  The other two butterflies I punched from the patterned papers using the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.  TIP:  Since it's a double punch, roughly cut the patterned paper to prepare it for punching so that you don't punch bits out of the surrounding butterfly images.

Thank you for visiting.
