Wonderful Moments Baby Shower Card

A little while ago, I made a bunch of backgrounds with Brusho and embossing folders.  This is one of them.  I've sponged a little bit of Lovely Lipstick ink over the top of the embossing since you last saw it to enhance those gorgeous dots.

I used the Wonderful Moments stamp set and a brusho/embossing folder background
to make this card for a baby shower
I stamped the image with Powder Pink ink onto Petal Pink cardstock and coloured it with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  The card is layered with Lovely Lipstick and So Saffron cardstock.

Since had no matching ribbon in my stash (I know - how is that possible!), I coloured some white ribbon.  At first I coloured it in my usual way by sitting it in a little bath of ink and water (I used So Saffron) but once it dried, I realised it wasn't the colour I wanted.  So I applied Light Lovely Lipstick with a Stampin' Blend alcohol marker.  That turned out a bit too intense, so I spritzed it with alcohol and spread the colour with my finger!  Now I'm happy!

Petal Palette on Brusho Layered Leaves

Last week I made some backgrounds with Brusho Colour Crystals and embossing folders and shared the first card I made which used the Woodland embossing folder.  This time I've made a card with one of the Layered Leaves backgrounds together with the Petal Palette stamp set and coordinating Petals & More Thinlit dies.

Sometimes the back of the watercolour background is more pleasing that the front!
I really didn't like the "front" of this background - it came out rather dark and very speckled - so I turned it over and used the back!

This is the front of the background - I decided to use the back

The base card is Mint Macaron, to which I added a layer of Blueberry Bushel.

The foliage is cut from both Blueberry Bushel and Tranquil Tide cardstock and I offset them a little when I adhered them to the card front.

I stamped the bird with Blueberry Bushel ink and then coloured it with a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker before cutting it out with the coordinating die and adding to the card with dimensionals.

I used a Calypso Coral and Tranquil Tide Stampin' Write Marker to add ink to the floral stamp and then added some colour and shading with Mint Macaron and Petal Pink Stampin' Write Markers before cutting out with the coordinating die.  TIP: When adding ink to stamps with markers, breathe heavily on the inked stamp before stamping - the moisture in your breath will reactivate any ink that may be drying out.

To add the flowers to the card, I tucked the stems under the die-cut foliate with a little glue and popped the floral end up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

The greeting from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set is stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink and cut out with the Classic Label Punch, shortened using this process.  I then glued it to the Blueberry Bushel label that was shortened using this method.

Finishing touches were the bow of Calypso Coral Ombre ribbon and some Glitter Enamel Dots.

Hearts Come Home with Brusho Background

I was originally going to include this card in the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Lisa Curcio but then realised that it bore a marked resemblance to this card that I made last year!

With the benefit of the Brusho Crystals for the background and the Frost White Shimmer Paint, I like this one better though!

A single layered Christmas Card with a Brusho sunset background and stamped black silhouettes

This is a single layer card using Shimmery White Cardstock.  I carefully masked the edges before I started the background, to leave a nice white frame.

Once the background was dry and I had removed the masking, I stamped the houses, trees and Santa with black ink.  TIP:  I used my Stamparatus when stamping so that I could re-ink and re-stamp as many times as necessary to obtain the ink coverage and depth of colour that I wanted.

I then used the same method to stamp the moon and stars with Frost White Shimmer paint.

With a small brush, I painted the chimney smoke with some Frost White Shimmer Paint.

I then used a black Stampin' Marker to connect the row of houses with a hill.

The Merry Christmas greeting is from the Star of Light stamp set.

Delightfully Detailed Brusho and Poinsettia

This is a card of leftovers and rejects! ... But I think they work together quite well!

A leftover poinsettia and rejected Brusho background working together to make a fun Christmas card

Behind the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut panel is a Brusho background that was a reject for this card.  It came out too strong and too stripey but works really well behind the laser cut paper.

The leaves for the poinsettia were left over from this card.  Since they're all the smaller leaves, it's a smaller flower.  I used the exact same technique to make the flower, as described by the amazing Jessie Holton (a fellow Crazy Crafter).

I used Stampin' Markers to ink up the label and sponged the edges with Poppy Parade ink after punching the label with the punch in the Christmas Traditions Punch Box.
