Petal Passion Memories - Thinking of You

I keep meaning to make up a Memories & More album of photos but I haven't got around to it yet.  However, that doesn't stop me making good use of the Petal Passion Memories & More card pack!  I love the colours and artistic designs!  So I use them to make cards.

An elegant card made with the Petal Passion Memories & More card pack

This is the first of three that I made in no time flat the other day!

To the Smoky Slate base card I added the black and white Petal Passion card which has a few dots of Powder Pink.

I then fussy cut another of the cards to create the Powder Pink border at the top with the cascading flower and leaves which I watercoloured with Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist and Pear Pizzazz inks.

The greeting is from the gorgeous Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Heartfelt Blooms and I punched it out with a 1.75" circle punch.  I used the 2" circle punch and a Powder Pink cardstock scrap to create the pink layer.

The finishing touches were some of the Metallics Sequins.

I'll share the other cards over the next few days.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Naturally Eclectic Brusho

The other day I said that I would share what became of the left over pigment from making the Brusho background for this card.  Well, here's the first strip of Whisper White cardstock that I used to mop up the colour.
#thecraftythinker, #stampinup, #brusho, #cardmaking, Eclectic Layers, Brusho, Petal Pair, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Sydney NSW
Naturally Eclectic suite teamed with Brusho Crystal Colour and Petal Pair Embossing Folder

The base card is Island Indigo followed by a piece of Pool Party that I ran through the Big Shot twice with one of the new Petal Pair embossing folders.

I edged the piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper (sitting on the desk leftover from another project!) with Island Indigo ink and added my Brusho strip.

The leaves were punched from Lemon Lime Twist card using the Leaf Punch then sponged with Garden Green ink.

The flower was cut from Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango card using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits and sponged with Calypso Coral ink.  I used one of the Metal Rimmed Pearls (still one of my favourite embellishments!) for the centre of the flower.

The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments is stamped with Island Indigo ink, cut with one of the Bunch of Banners Framelits and edged with Peekaboo Peach ink.

Thank you for visiting.

Lift Me Up over the Lovely Trees - fun with Brusho Crystal Colour

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Project Highlights this week.  Click here to see the fully array and vote for your favourites.

The other day, in the post Christmas quiet, I got out the Brusho Colour Crystals again.

Brusho Crystal Colour background and heat embossed hot air balloons
I knew I wanted to create a tree line and thought I'd make it easier for myself by using the Lovely As A Tree stamp to guide my water application.  So I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz onto the watercolour paper.

The Lovely as a tree image was a helpful guide for where to apply the water

I then liberally applied water (with a mop brush) to the area of the trees and ground and sprinkled on Brusho crystals, starting with yellow towards the top, then green and then blue and overlapping a little.

Once the project is dry, any excess colour crystals can be tapped off

As you can see - I used plenty of crystals to get a dense colour coverage.  I just left it like this to dry.  Once dry, I tapped the back of the paper to remove the loose crystals.

The remnants on my work surface didn't go to waste!  I spritzed on more water and grabbed some leftover bits of Whisper White cardstock to press into it.  I'll show you what I did with those at a later date!

So this is what it looked like once it had dried.  I decided to use the Lovely As a Tree stamp again to add a bit of definition to my wooded area.

As with any watercolour, the colours dry lighter

I stamped with Early Espresso several times and then didn't like what I'd done!  So I got out a damp brush and softened the stamping a little.  I still didn't love it but it was an improvement!  I then put a tiny amount of the blue crystals in a container and added quite a lot water.  I used this and a wet brush to paint the sky, using more pigment at the top of the card.

I added a wash of blue Brusho for the sky, stamped the trees and then softened with a wet brush

Then I copper heat embossed the balloons from the Lift Me Up stamp set, watercoloured them with Elegant Eggplant ink and cut them out.  Initially, I used the matching dies but I didn't want the white outline around the balloons so I ended up fussy cutting them.

Party Pandas 18th Birthday card

It's time to celebrate! .... Not just my niece's birthday but also the start of Sale-A-Bration 2018 and the launch of the new Occasions Catalogue!

These little guys are just so cute!  And quite versatile - use them individually or together and adjust the backgrounds and greetings to suit many occasions and age groups.

The Painted With Love paper is sooo stunning it makes any card really special with no effort!

This trio are in full on party mode for my niece's 18th!

The Painted with Love papers are just so stunning that they make any card really special, quite effortlessly!  I cut the balloons from a different piece of the paper (you can see more of it in this card) and tried to use the markings in the paper for some shadows and highlights.  I drew in the strings with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  The numbers are stamped with Melon Mambo ink using the Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set which is, unfortunately, retired but the numbers were just the right size!.

These gorgeous Party Pandas are in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue and are FREE with an order of $90

The watercoloured "dance floor" is a bit of a happy accident!  I started out with Powder Pink, darker in the foreground, then added some Melon Mambo shadows.  The blue was an accident but I rather like it!  I had just finished using Brusho crystals and water to watercolour a sky and clearly hadn't washed my brush as thoroughly as I thought I had!

Both the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Party Pandas stamp set became  available today!

The Party Pandas are one of the amazing items in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue and are FREE with an order of $90.

The pattern in this gorgeous Painted With Love paper makes me think of gold clouds

That stunning background is a piece of the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The balloons are also cut from one of those sheets.

Even better - the panda is one of three in the Party Pandas stamp set (which also has some useful greetings) and it's FREE, yes FREE, from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue with a purchase of $90.

Hopefully this card will lift the spirits of somebody facing challenges at the moment

I made this card for one of my cousins who is going through a tough time at the moment, so I used a sentiment inside from the Lift Me Up stamp set, stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Thank you for visiting.
