Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop - Technique: Punch Art Sheep

No automatic alt text available.
Welcome to the Ink It! Stamp It! Design Team Blog Hop - we hop every month so be sure to pop back and visit us again!  Today we are sharing techniques. I've done some punch art.

You are currently at my page - Stephanie Fischer, The Crafty Thinker.  At the end of my post there is a full line of team members, please click on the name after mine in the list to continue the hop.

This card is for some dear friends - a young couple moving to Queenstown in New Zealand.  I just had to put some sheep on the card!  I've also made a rough attempt at the Remarkables.

I haven't done a lot of punch art in the past but at the moment I'm really enjoying bending my mind in a different direction - looking at the shapes of punched and die cut pieces and wondering what else they could become.

Punch art sheep and a hint of the Remarkables makes a card with a reference to Queenstown!

So this is how I made those sheep.  If I'd planned the rest of the card before I made the sheep, I would probably have used those smaller cloud shapes for the tops of the heads too.

"Ingredients" for the punch art sheep

Start with the white scalloped circle and glue on the face and legs.

Stage 1 of the punch art sheep

Then add the ears before covering the ear joins and square head with some of the fluffy shapes - either the clouds or blossoms.

Stage 2 of the punch art sheep

I used the smallest circles in the Cookie Builder Punch for the whites of the eyes.  Once the sheep were in their final position, I used a black marker to finish the eyes so that they're looking at each other.

Thank you so much for joining us today and we hope you'll join us again next month when we'll be sharing Christmas projects! I'm Stephanie Fischer and to keep hopping around see the list below to see who is up next with another great project.

Thanks for visiting
'Til next time
Stephanie

    1. Thanks, Kirsten! Yes - even when you have to supplement with dies - it's very satisfying when you work through the shape challenge!
