Floral Phrases for On Stage Swaps

I was so excited to have attended the Sydney On Stage event at Luna Park yesterday - It's always exciting to get our first look at the amazing products coming up in the new Annual Catalogue!  This event was even more special given that it's the 30th year for Stampin' Up and there were quite a few surprises!

As usual, I told myself to keep my swap cards very simple ... and as usual I didn't listen to myself!  Thank goodness for my trusty (and awesome!) Stamparatus!

65 Swaps for On Stage Sydney!
There were 50 Crazy Crafters Team members at the event and I also wanted some to swap with others so I made 65 card fronts!  Keep scrolling down to see the amazing and generous swaps that I received in return!

The 65th of these card fronts that I made for swaps to take to On Stage in Sydney
Not only did the Stamparatus allow me to stamp the background using the Hinge-Step technique and to easily stamp the flower in the correct position on the semi-circle of Whisper White card but it also saved my sanity!

Production line - the Stamparatus makes things so much easier
When making quantities of the same card it's always best to work in batches but I very quickly become bored of repetitive tasks.  Since the Stamparatus has 4 surfaces for stamps, I could easily switch between stamping the background and the flower without having to clean or move anything.

Using the Stamparatus, I could easily switch between stamping the stripes or the flowers
Before starting the die cutting, I cut the cardstock into appropriately sized strips.  I found this helped me to save some wastage.  In fact, after cutting the swirls, I even found a use for the leftovers.

So we're coming up to the most exciting time of the year.  We'll be saying farewell to some things (in some cases very sadly) and preparing to welcome some great new things that will excite and expand our creativity - including the amazing Stamparatus!

I'll be providing some sneak peaks in the weeks to come.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Petal Passion in Flirty Flamingo

Continuing my quest to use up the retiring 2016-2018 In-Colours!  This time it's Flirty Flamingo, which I've paired with the gorgeous Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.
#thecraftythinker , #stampinup , #cardmaking , Petal Passion, Quick card, Watercolouring, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Petal Passion paper makes for a quick, easy and pretty card!

The flower is from one of the sheets of Petal Passion paper - I watercoloured it and then cut it out.

The flower is attached with a Stampin' Dimensional for extra impact

The leaves are cut from Emerald Envy cardstock (another of those retiring colours) and then sponged with a touch of Tranquil Tide ink.

The flower was lightly curled with a bone folder and attached with a dimensional.

Brusho Flourish

#thecraftythinker , #cardmaking , #brusho , #stampinup , Brusho, Flourish Thinlits, Making the Most of Mistakes, Stampin' Up! Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
Sometimes mistakes end up enhancing a card!

In just a few short weeks (31st May) the 2016-2018 In-Colours will be retiring and I started my quest to use them up with a base card in Dapper Denim.

I used masking on Whisper White cardstock to create a decorative strip with Brusho Crystal Colour (I used the blue, yellow and green), however, the colour seeped under the tape.  I think it worked out for the best, though, because I covered up the leaks with strips of Copper Foil Sheet and love the effect!

Using Silver Foil Sheet (with Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheet applied to the back) I cut the focal point with the Flourish Thinlits and stamped the greeting  from Birthday Blossom in Dapper Denim ink.

Lovely As A Tree - Masking & Sponging

I will always love trying new products and learning new techniques but from time to time I find it comforting and grounding to revisit oldies and favourites.
#thecraftythinker, #cardmaking, #stampinup, #masculinecard, #rubberstamping, Lovely As A Tree, Masking & Sponging, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
A masculine card made with comforting old favourites
This card encompasses both an old and favourite stamp set as well as technique.

My very first Stampin' Up! stamp set was the perennial favourite - Lovely As A Tree and it remains one of my very favourite sets for its versatility and beautiful images.  It's the perfect set - all occasion, masculine or feminine, easily paired with other stamp sets, and did I say beautiful images! And, it's my go to stamp set for creating little scenes.

This time it's the star of the show combined with a little masking and sponging and a little piece of that gorgeous Cordury Ribbon.

Voila!  A masculine card in no time flat!

Thank you for visiting.
